So I am riding down an elevator in the Galleria in Houston today with my family when a guy wearing a JMU Dukes shirt enters with his wife and child in a stroller. I comment to him that at least his team beat the national champs this year. And with a stunned look on his face he mutters something about having planned to wear the shirt to celebrate a title.

As he exited the elevator his wife says to him, "Hey, somebody has actually heard of your school."

I never plan what I am going to wear. Must be a Texas thing.

My wife thought the line of the guy's wife was a riot.

Earlier in the day I was at Ed Young Sr.'s church for a kid's Christmas show and an older guy was trying to explain to one of his buddies that his alma mater had just won the national championship. The guy being told asked in all seriousness if this Richmond he spoke of was a DIII school. And what made it funnier was that the UR alum wasn't sure if it was I-AA or DII ... but he knew former Astros OF Billy Hatcher's son played for the Spiders.
