Kingaling Thread - Blowout Loss to Duke

Just trying to be proactive here and with Duke playing UNCA tonight and we all expect a blowout - I thought we could keep all all trash talking for Kingaling in one place. You know, to keep him from having to post in multiple threads defending his team and Gym. Because we all know, by the end of the night, we will do a argue about a few things:
1) Asheville's Gym
2) Asheville's just to young
3) Asheville's lack of a football team
4) Asheville's place in Big South history
5) Asheville's surprising blowout of us early in the year
6) All the excuses we will hear as to why Duke blew them out. (I think we would give them a game this year - I can't believe I said that, but we just have been giving good teams fits lately.)
Predictions?
Mine - Duke 115, UNCA 54

There's a big difference between Clemson and UVA good and Duke good...

wow already rationalizing and the game hasn't even tipped off! glad to see you have such confidence in your team!

I didn't say we would win, but I do think we would compete and not lose by 40 points.
And Clemson beat Duke last year and Virginia beat them 2 years ago. So - don't devalue any ACC competition.

1. Beating a dead horse. It is what it is. Realize that UNCA is a school where many professors would relish a D3 program or none at all.
2. Sure they are young...but have at least a couple of guys with experience. At least against Duke, they won't have to face a team with any inside presence.
3. Football does not fit into the schools mission to be an undergraduate public liberal arts school of excellence.
4. I can argue with any of you that LU and UNCA are on par with each other in terms of Big South hoops tradition. Both schools have TWO titles and UNCA actually won a game in the tournament.
5.
6. LU vs Duke would at least be entertaining in terms of shooting the 3.
Prediction. Proto...I think you are dead on with this...but I think UNCA may be hard-pressed to crack 50 unless they shoot like they did against us.

duke won't score 115, but i doubt unca scores 50. duke will score in the mid-nineties and unca in the high forties
lance thomas, zoubeck, and singler aren't that big of an impact inside, but against a team like ashville they could really put up some points. also henderson hasn't really broken out yet, but if he takes off against ashville their could be some serious teabagging going on

Asheville may not know what to do in a gym similar in size to its own that doesn't have a student section that steals cheers from other schools and OH WAIT, DOESN'T HAVE EMPTY SEATS WHEN IT'S PLAYING ON NATIONAL TELEVISION!
Enjoy watching your school get absolutely DESTROYED DING A LING!

Like this one........except in reverse.
I don't think UNC-Asheville will stay within 35 pts. I think JDUB's score prediction is pretty close 90-something to 40-something.

there will be empty seats. christmas break on wednesday night will not pack out,but they may not be visible on tv.

Take it easy on King. I am assuming he is gainfully employed.

I've gotta be honest and say I don't get the point of this thread. By predicting a huge blowout you are just setting yourself up for kingaling to call you on it if the game is half-way competitive.

That's fine. If that happens - we'll take it like men. But the chances are slim and after all - if it happens and they keep it within 40, give the guy something to be excited about - after all he went to UNCA. Let's have some pity on the fellow.

UNCA hanging with them...

43-31. They just promoed a half time piece. "There's another Curry lighting up the scoreboard." Wonder who that's about?

52-35 Duke at the half.

Looks like I missed it by 10 points. Final score Duke 99 UNCA 56.
