The speculation has already begun about where he might land. The most likely I-AAs close to his house are Sam Houston and Prairie View. While the latter is a HBCU it is close by his home and the Panthers are suddenly a quality FCS program. The two I-As in town would both love to land him. But I don't see Sam being Rice material academically. So you have to think UH is in good shape. Both the Horns & Ags flirted with him. I would suggest the latter is more of a possibility since he would be the man in Collie Station after sitting out a year that would match up with Mike Goodson's senior season if my math is correct.

I have to think that Sam Houston would be appealing, the Rhett Bomar factor might help them out a little? (I understand that he's gone... but just the fact that they have something that Transfers want, apparently)

I would think the bigger concern is if he can finish playing football. Three concussions in one season is alarming

Was it 3 concussions or was it actually in ONE SEASON.

If in one season...he may have difficulty finding a doctor that will clear him. That is borderline career ending.

Sam is a Freshman, so either all 3 concussions were in 1 season or one or more date back to HS.
