Well, he does have D1 head coaching experience.

Sadly I am familiar with a good chunk of that list. And I believe I covered Tyrone when he was a receiver in high school. But i digress ...

If Guy Morriss seriously wants this job (and is willing to work for the right price) then I don't see anyone else on that list competing.

For the record, I hadn't heard that Coach K had been let go at Toledo.

Amstutz left (I think he resigned) and when a coach leaves often that means the end for his staff too.

That's exactly what happens.

Actually, LU is very unusual in that we have several assistant coaches who have been retained with the changes in head coach. Frank Hickson, Marshall Roberts, Charlie Skalaski and Robert Wimberly were all Karcher hires and Pete Sundheim goes all the way back to the Rutigliano era. It was a gutsy move by Rocco to not go the traditional route and "clean house", but to look at each coach and each coaching position individually. I'm convinced that by retaining these quality individuals he accelerated our progress.

Karcher? Yea his last head coaching stint worked out real good.

I agree, olldflame. But keep in mind that Coach Rocco was assembling a staff for the first time. And most of his recent colleagues were getting pulled to Philly & Manhattan at the same time. He made the prudent call retaining those guys. Often times first year head coaches will keep some of the holdover staff to fill in gaps and to establish some continuity witht he players.

If I recall correctly...Sundheim, along with the strength staff and Gomes were all retained by JF...as that was a condition of any coach who would have been hired.
