Very good stuff. Like him or not...much of what he says in his columns make a lot of sense.

i used to despise whitlock but now i only semi despise him as a few of the things he's written, i've agreed with.

but his hatred for espn his hilarious. he ripped on 2 employees publicaly and got canned and hates them for his own stupidity...

that being said, ball state is this years hawaii. they would get decimated by an sec/big12 team.

i can't blame him for his ESPN hate fest. they've ruined sportscenter with the ghetto-fication of it with stuart's scott idiocy. it would be nice if it would return to, you know, actually NEWS like they claim it is instead of some cheap knockoff of espn news. there's many other problems with it, one of the tops on the list being its obsession with the east coast, specifically boston teams (and I LIKE the boston teams), NY teams, and the acc.

WOW

Fowler has had his EDIT kissed fortoo many years. He travels around the country during football season and everywhere he goes, there's an Army of BCS sports information directors waiting to kiss his jerk and tell him how great "GameDay" is.

He has never been a professional journalist a day in his life. He's a TV personality. He knows what someone else has told him. I'm not 100 percent sure, but I'd suspect he hasn't worn a jock since junior high school.....

Sports media is dying by suicide and ESPN is Dr. Jack Kevorkian. You're dying, too. ESPN just hasn't told you yet.

Yeah, there's a lot of vitriol in that piece

Ball State has a football team?

(Yes, it's a joke.)

I like him bc he doesnt sell out...although at times I think of him as a Al Sharpton where they are paranoid thinking the white man is out to get them

The difference between him and Sharpton, though, is Whitlock is not afraid to lash out at the black athletes and call them out when they deserve it.

I agree with everything he said...except all the crap about Ball State. I know that gave him the platform to make his rant, but it also kind of doused his credibility at the same time.

We used to call him Fatlock back a decade or so ago when he was working at the KC fishwrap claiming the Big 12 wasn't a merger but an acquisition and that the Texan teams weren't even in the same athletic spectre as the mighty Big 8 schools. Looking back now, how laughable is that?

I heard him filling in for Rome this past week doing this anti-ESPN/Ball State schtick. Frankly I agree with him on this topic much more than I care to admit.

Im guessing you mean Rome's Radio show...Rome better be careful though letting him on there....they will make him disappear quickly

Jim has been kicked to the curb by ESPN before and isn't scared of it happening again.

Whitlock's boys do not have his back. Buffalo stuns Ball State to win MAC title.

Yes, Buffalo.

On the other hand, Turner Gill is a certifiable coaching god.

That should help Turner become a hotter coaching property for offseason openings. If he can turn that mess into a league champion he has Rocco-esque skills.

Gill definitely should get one of the upper tier jobs that are out there or may become available due to the dominoes falling as coaches move around.
