I mentioned this in the Gado thread last night. BB doesn't seem to be shy on pulling the trigger on unknown quantities. Hopefully Redd will get his shot.

The 6-foot-6-inch, 260-pound Redd would be more prepared than most rookies. He played in a 3-4 system similar to the one the Patriots run at the University of Virginia under Al Groh, who was the Patriots defensive coordinator under Bill Parcells and coached with Patriots coach Bill Belichick with the Giants, Browns, and Jets. He was with Virginia for two years before transferring to Liberty University, where he played for one of Groh's former assistants at Virginia who ran the same system.

Redd said the Patriots' system and Groh's aren't exactly the same, but they're not very different.

"Sometimes if you come in and have to learn a totally different system and operation and communication and stuff like that you can get overwhelmed real easy on simple stuff, mess up on simple things," said Redd. "I guess that's where I would get an advantage over some other person that would come in."

I heard the Patriots just signed Ty Law. Would that take the roster spot that Vince was looking for?

So, the Pats are playing right now. Does anybody know who they ever signed?

Did they keep Mayo at LILB or move him over to RILB....he's having a big game with some big hits, I was hoping he wasnt the reason Vince wasnt playing

Mayo had 16 tackles, no sign of Vince. I think Pierre Woods is the guy who replaced Thomas, he had 6 tackles and a sack.
