Big South Fantasy Basketball

Me and Sch14teen had an idea to run a Big South Fantasy Basketball league, and we were wondering what you guys thought of the idea...
We would have a draft and run weekly head to head matchups, and just like a fantasy league, you want to accumulate more stats in each category than your opponent.
The Categories:
Points/game
Rebounds/game
Assists/game
Steals/game
Blocks/game
Turnovers/game (more is bad)
Fouls/game (more is bad)
Wins (Coach)
Margin of victory/game (Coach)
You draft 6 players and a coach. You set a lineup every week on Sunday that plays thru the whole week thru Saturday's games.
I feel like I am forgetting details, but oh well. We will set up a draft and everything once we get people signed up. We're shooting for 8 teams maximum. I will be taking care of all the numbers and stuff. Interested? Let me know... We will only accept the 8 best applicants to join this league, just so we can be sure we have people who know their stuff. WinthropEagleFan, and Realist are openly invited, in fact, I reserve them spots in the league. I don't want this to just be LU fans... So, I wanna see what kind of interest this generates.

I think that would be awesome to do. But it would be horrible for someone to have to calculate the points since you'd have to be doing it on your own.

I would be interested.
However, I agree with LUconn. There might be some programs that do that for you, though.

I am more than willing to do the work, wether it's a program or on my own.

I'd be interested...my biggest concern is with a head-to-head weekly matchup...teams' schedules vary so much, that many times your success would be dependant on which teams play 3 games in a week as opposed to one (or none).

I'd be up for it----to take care of the games in a week problem you could probably set it up as ppg avg for the week, rebound avg for the week, etc.

But on second thought it would probably function better like a fantasy baseball (I've never played fantasy basketball) where the stats just accumulate all season.
It would also probably be easier to track as well for keeping the score would be my guess.

Very true. I will do them all as "per game" stats...

You will be allowed one move per week. Waiver order will go from bottom of the standings to the top.
Special exemptions will be given for injured players.

Manson, you should show up on draft night, and if someone is a no-show, then you can just take over their team.
Sunday night it is. 8PM? Later? Earlier?

8pm or later.

Works for me...are Presbyterian players eligible to be drafted?

Yes, Presby is included. This week I am going to make up a better/complete set of rules, and a list of players. Mainly, I am going to have to classify players into guards or forwards. You will be starting 2 guards, 2 forwards, and 1 flex guy, who could be either. You will also start your coach.

This is going to be really weird if I have Eugene Harris and then I'm at the Winthrop game and hoping for Harris to go off for 40 but we still win.

I have a list of players. Just PM me your email address and confirm that you will be there at 8:30 PM on Sunday night (We will hold the draft here, on the board). I will then email you the list of players.
Also, some basic rules:
Draft will draft 7 people... 6 players and a coach.
Draft will be in random order, and serpentine.
Every week you will set a line-up of 5 players (Line-ups will be set by Sunday, and go into effect Monday)
2 guards
2 forwards/centers
1 flex player (either guard or forward)
You will face off against another opponent for a week, from Monday to Sunday. You will face off in the categories listed below, and at the end of the week, you will receive a "record". The team with the best record at the end of the season, wins.
Points/game
Rebounds/game
Assists/game
Steals/game
Blocks/game
Turnovers/game (more is bad)
Fouls/game (more is bad)
Wins (Coach)
Margin of victory/game (Coach)
For instance, if you win PPG, RPG, and APG, but lost all the others, you will go 3-6-0, and that will be added to your total record.
Adding and dropping players will be allowed on a weekly basis. If you want to add a player, you will PM me a request and I will hold it until Sunday. On Sunday, if you have the highest waiver order of people looking to add that player, you will get that player.
Waiver order is determined by record, worst record has a higher spot in the order. For the first week, we will go opposite of draft order.
You will only be allowed to drop one player a week, and add one per week. Exceptions will be granted in case of severe injury.
Anything I'm missing? Any questions?

Can we institute a rule that realist cannot be stuck with Bart Lundy?
