I was reading the high school football rundown and came across this sad tidbit:
Fishburne at VES
LAST WEEK: Fishburne lost to the Model School for the Deaf, 26-0

Is Fishburne good at any sport? I remember killing them in tennis every year I played for LCA.

If you have ever seen a Deaf School football game it is quite an experience. And just because they may not be able to hear doesn't mean they can't be very good athletes.

That is pretty awesome for the school that won...as I was notified by much more informed posters than myself they are doing good things at this school and going out and dominating Fishburne like this (and to answer A-Train's question Im not sure if Fishburne is good at anything at this point...)

Texas School for the Deaf plays the other top deaf school nationally for a deaf national championship. But they also play in a regular private school league here in Texas where they usually are strong.

A few years back Fishburne had some decent basketball teams. I think they did a lot of out of state recruiting and at times brought in some decent ball players

I'll give you guys that...when I saw the school my first thought was more about Fishburne (mostly because Hargrave beat 69-0 and I looked up Gallaudet University (very well known college for the deaf ). My apologies for my ignorant statement earlier. Im sure the players at the MOdel School are awesome athletes. Fishburne obviously was not the better team in that game last week and all the best to the MOdel School. I will fix my post accordingly.

Check it: Back when I was a senior in High School, our first year with a football team - we lost to the Maryland schoool for the deaf 89-0. We're a christian school. First game ever. Killed by deaf kids. Apparently they were state champs or something. I didn't play football but it was hilarious, we made fun of everyone on the team. 89-0! couldnt even score once?

And what's worse...they might move it indoors and just have everyone stand and play.
