The Chanticleers will be without their leading tackler for the rest of the season.

CCU safety Dominique Davenport dislocated his right elbow on the opening drive against Towson and will undergo season-ending surgery on Thursday morning.

An MRI exam Tuesday revealed extensive ligament and soft tissue damage.

CCU coach David Bennett said the silver lining is that Davenport, a junior, should have two seasons of eligibility remaining by obtaining a medical redshirt.
