Tar Heels? Tar Heels!

Ok, I don't know what to think of this game. Does Rutgers suck? Is Carolina actually good? I don't know what to feel. This just doesn't feel right. Carolina isn't supposed to be winning this much. There's a quarter and 5 minutes left and I'm petrified Rutgers is going to come back.

It looks like Rutgers is just a step slower in speed, reaction and pretty much every other aspect. I dont think UNC's awful...just not as great as Rutgers is making them look right now.

But celebrate GMTM the Heel's came away with a good win to build on!

That's what I'm thinking too. I don't think Rutgers is that good but I don't think they're terrible either. Carolina very well could be bowl eligible this year.

Maybe....just maybe UNC is going to experience the same success Rutgers had recently. The ACC is set up very good for them to have a shot at a bowl like you talked about.

You figure they're 2-0 after tonight. They have NC State at home and NC State is terrible. They also get VT, UConn, Notre Dame, Boston College, and Georgia Tech at home. Say they win two of those. That's five wins right there. If they can beat Miami, UVA, Maryland, or Duke on the road, that's bowl eligible right there.

UNC is starting to get some very good players on that team. Say what you want about Butch's coaching but he's one heckuva recruiter.

O I have been celebrating!!!!! I said earlier today that if the D could contain there passing game that we would win easily... I didn't think the D would hold that much... But as Butch told me earlier in the week... From week 1 to week 2 is where the Biggest improvement is made all season long...... This was not the same team who gave up almost 400 yards to McNesse.St a week and a half ago... Looking forward to VT next Sat...O BTW Brandon Tate is a freak of an athlete for those of you who are just gettiing to see him now.. Carolina will win 7 games this year and maybe 8 so they will definitely be bowling in Dec... And if you are looking for an ACC sleeper... Look no further than the ATL, if G.T beats the Hokies this week they will easily be 6-0 heading into Death Valley in mid-Oct....

All I could think of watching that game was how AWESOME LU would look in solid red unis.

Didn't Rutgers just get their butts handed to them by Fresno St. last week? Or maybe that was 2 weeks ago.

You mean #21 Fresno St..............yeah, they did......Sept. 1.......24-7.

I've been watching Carolina football a far back as I can remember. I haven't seen a Carolina defense this excited on the field since the #1 defense on the '97 team. The current D is not as good as that D, but you can tell they are excited to play football. Believe me, they didn't have that under Torbush or Bunting.

I also thought the navy pants were a nice touch.

GO HEELS!

Carolina is pretty high on Logan Thomas' list of possible schools. One of the Carolina coaches was at Brookville's game last week when they shut out Salem. If they can continue to get recruits of as high a caliber as Thomas they will only continue to improve!

UNC is in the best possible position they can be to succeed in the ACC since the ACC is no better than a high mid-major league now.

Actually, a winning record and a bowl bid for the heels this year might tip the scales for Logan's services. He's always wanted to go there, but since it became clear his future is probably in football and not basketball, the fact that they have been so bad has kept him from comitting.

i think rutgers is definitely down, but that game made me think UNC may be better than I thought this year. We'll see

on a related note, the team down the road has a winning season going for the first time in forever.

Logan is visiting the Heels this weekend to take in the VT-UNC game.

For the record, I do think UNC is going to win against VT. I also think that ECU would be UNC 9 out of 10 times this season.

I must say, that is very Lou Holtzesque of Beamer...or is it David Bennettesque? :P
