BTW I generally feel bad when I see an athlete go down with a season ending injury but I really dont feel bad, I cant figure out if it's b/c of Bill, the Pats or the arrogance that they have

Chris Simms will be signed unless he screw up the workout (something he never does ... he's one of the greatest practice players ever).

I would rather have culpepper lead my team than simms. Actually I would rather Matt Cassel lead my team. Simms won't help them.

Cassel is the man ... they are just looking for somebody with experience who could fit into their offense. That's not Culpepper.

Chris Simms is destined to a future of Greatness. Don't you guys remember? Guys who get Booed out of Tampa ALWAYS go elsewhere and succeed.

If Chris Simms starts at QB for the Pats, they're running the table again.

Culpepper is the only option for them if they want to be competitive this year. He steps in and they don't miss a beat with Moss.

I really don't think that's true. Plus, it's not just Moss that makes the offense. Welker did catch 110 passes last year, and Culpepper wouldn't be able to move the chains like that with ONLY Moss. Get a guy who should be starting in the NFL, like Simms. Simms just got on the wrong side of Chucky and found his way to the blacklist. He is a starting QB in the NFL. Not a star or a super star, but he's better than Tavaris Jackson, Kyle Orton, and guys like that. He would do really well, especially if he gets to sit in the shotgun. He is worlds better when he gets some room to work.

You've got to be kidding, TD. You did see Daunte last year in Oakland, right? He is so far removed from his abilities when he was with Moss in Minneapolis that any comparison is preposterous. Daunte is damaged goods pure and simple.

Personally you can count me among those who expect Cassel to be an above average replacement.

Agreed on Daunte, and kinda agree on Cassel.

I think the Pats can win 10 games with Cassel, just because he isn't gonna screw things up. I think they could do better tho. Rattay or Simms would be good, or who knows who else...

all Im going to say is that I have never been happier during a football season than seeing him go down.... and

Chris Simms should be able to do well once he gets familiar with the playbook and back in the flow of things. Matt Cassell will serve well in his new found role too.

Oakland was an NFL team during Culpepper's time there? Come on...that team was NFL Europa material. Put him on the Patriots with that offense? He'd be as good as anyone at this point.

No he wouldn't. Culpepper was great in Minnesota cause he could run. He's as mobile as Will Richardson now.

I am going to be honest...I do not think it matters THAT much who the QB is for New England as long as they are average...that system is so good and they have so many other players that make plays...it would take a pretty bad QB to do badly in New England...in my opinion anyways

I'm a huge Bucs fan and Chris Simms is good. He is much better than everyone thinks. He's got a great arm, good head, and he would be a good fit for them.

I hate the Bucs let him go - he is better than Garcia.

I'm surprised it took so long for this thread and the Pats/Brady haters to come out. I checked a couple times yesterday evening expecting to see it up...almost 24 hours from moment of impact...impressive.


First, really, anyone who feels an iota of glee at the injury of another player, even one they despise, is simply a digusting human being at their core. I mean c'mon, there really is no justifying the enjoyment of the injury of another player. The lunacy of that is beyond words. Even in the height of my disdain for the 49ers' and Cowboys' runs in the 80's/90's, never once did I salivate for the injury of the star players or the so-called arrogant players (and there were plenty on those teams.) Even when Croyle had to leave the game later, I was not "gleeful" that now it would be easier for the team I root for to win...it's just bad form to wish for and revel in the injury of another player...


I happen to believe Pollard when he says he was just trying to make a play. While I don't believe Pollard's play was necessarily dirty, since that would suggest a sinister intent on the play, it should have been deemed an illegal play by the league and at least penalized according to the Palmer rule that was instituted after his season-ending knee injury...watch the Palmer injury that prompted the rule change, it is almost a carbon copy of the Brady play. [And Pollard lunged toward the leg...the reverse angle of the play clearly shows that he is on the ground and then lunges underneath Morris not Morris pushing him into Brady...not dirty, but a dangerous play nonetheless.]

I'd be picking up a knee brace if I were an NFL QB for this coming week...for peace of mind at least since they basically greenlit the low hit on the quarterback for the season (just make sure to bounce off a defender before lunging) by saying the play was within the rules and not even condemning the play as dangerous. I'm surprised fans of the Colts aren't more concerned about the stance the league took on this as Manning is already starting with a tenuous knee...

WHAT??? Am I reading this wrong??? Haters - which part of this thread is hating on Brady or the Patriots??? believe we were discussing who would take over for Brady now that he is hurt. Maybe you should quote the post you are responding too, so you don't confuse anyone. If you want to argue - let's pick a legitimate topic...
