I may be speaking greek to some of you with this topic but I Tivo'd the Indianapolis 500 today and witnessed one of the most epic finishes in my 23 years on this earth! Sam Hornish Jr wins the race by about a car length after a perfectly timed draft coming down the front straight coming to the checkered flag (This is Indy Car open wheel racing not NASCAR by the way)

That was a phenomenal finish--especially overcoming the pass-through penalty. Great racing all day long.

That was the most exciting Indy in a L O N G time. Too bad you most of you NASCAR guys could care less.

I agree, GREAT RACE!!! It had everything, Speed (Average 215 mph, beat THAT NASCARians) a few good crashes, Sex Appeal (Danica, if you are into that) and an incredible finish. At first I heard the announcers say that he ran out of gas on the victory lap. Talk about amazing!!!!!!! So now I will watch the NASCAR race and see if they can compete

I'm not sure tonight's race in Charlotte makes for a very good comparison to the 500. With the new pavement, new tires and smaller fuel cells, it's more like a grand experiment than a normal race.
