My understanding from talking to multiple people is that no invitation will be offered to anyone until the presidents meet as a group. I don't think they're going to convene an emergency session or conference call before May, especially since the meetings take place before the June 1 deadline.

It seems the presidents sent an unofficial invite to a school not named Liberty today. Last night I was sure Liberty was a lock. The Belt is either adding two teams or Liberty is still a no go. This is getting crazy.

I gave up trying to figure out the Sun Belt presidents are thinking. They need to just make up their minds and get this over with

That unofficial invite may be the ultimatum chiefsfan may have been talking about that JMU was going to receive. The presidents may want to make sure all the options on the table have all been exhausted, before we are going to get invited.

Or it may be they were just pullings us along and humoring us that they are discussing a possible invitation, when it was always their intention to stall us, explore all of their options; so we wouldn't sue the belt for not being given an equal opportunity to join.

This has a 25% at best chance at happening. Call me negative all you want but this just doesn't look good for us. It seems like much of the same. More rumors probably started hoping that it would scare JMU again. It won't work and the Sun Belt will be stuck with nothing once again.

Me too. I have received a couple of messages on the Sun Belt board from other schools posters who are saying they are hearing Liberty plus 1. Seems odd to go to 13 and not 14 unless they have plans to cut someone, Idaho maybe?

Liberty +1 means Idaho is gone and I'm fine with that because that's to far away and the rest of the conference footprint is so perfect.
