Good news....93.9FM is up and running so not only will you be able to hear the Sportsline on the FM dial in Lynchburg...but you also be able to hear ESPN radio on the FM dial as well.....

Picks up pretty good out here near Waterlick,but I hear the Danville Braves, 1320 and 1350 have something else,I guess some technical problems.
Last year ,we had to listen to the Salem Avalanche,Roanoke Dazzle Basketball and Roanoke College basketball on 1320,I would listen to 1350 then.Also Sunday morning Church services on a sports station,I would like to listen to sports on the way to Church.

No kidding. I called their offices last week to complain. It is their stream out of Bedford.

Its all about revenue, fellas. The station has bills to pay and those Sunday morning time slots are valuable in that regard.

BUT NOT A SPORTS STATION...
...I think its all about NOT having to pay ESPN for Sunday AM ...especially when they're running the same services on all 4-5 stations.

While ill agree with some of these points.....the new ESPN Radio has all Danville advertising, i haven't heard 1 Lynchburg commercial. While i understand the services may generate coin, wouldn't getting some local sponsorship make up for whatever coin you are making from these services? I have heard quite a few complaints already or i wouldn't even know about this situation from golfers who listen on Sunday morning anticipating specific programming.

While Houston may jump on that bandwagon, id be hardpressed to imagine other big cities in the Northeast copy this model?

Sly when you say break format.....does that mean other talk radio or church services in Houston? I can see switching to an infomercial or something to pay the bills but all together altering your format just seems incredibly odd.

One station runs home improvement while another combines church services with fishing coverage. Seriously.

And to be honest, the numbers actually don't tend to go down according to the local people meters.

The stations in Lynchburg and Roanoke just changed hands....the danville espn radio has been in possesion for a while....It will take a few weeks....I have XM as well and love being able to listen to Boston Red Sox games and ACC games...that's why I bought it..
