No 2 teams should play more than once. (See NBA. They drag playoffs out until June or maybe July.) I like the deal come post season, one loss and you're gone.

NBA's problem is not that teams play multiple times, seven games is too much and there is too much of a break in between every game. A five game series should be sufficient. Sometimes there is as much as a 2-day break between games that are taking place in the same city. I know it's really all about TV though, so it's not going to change anytime soon.

What I do like is that the NBA playoffs do generally crown the best team, it's pretty rare that a team not really considered a championship contender wins the championship. It's not a regular occurrence in the NCAA but it's not exactly rare either.

It's the same reason why I hate how mid-major conference sometimes get screwed in March because some middling team gets hot and wins their tournament and the team that was clearly the best all season long gets left out of the mix. Then if that hot team doesn't stay hot in the NCAA Tournament, they get taken out to the woodshed by a #1 or #2 seed first round. Those tournaments don't really do much good other than to pad some people's pockets with more cash and get some team that in the big dance that doesn't really deserve to be there to begin with.

Why do you insist on attacking other posters ? If you do not like a comment , just ignore it. That's what I do. I see posts every day that I do not agree with, but I respect the opinion of poster.

You can't just post whatever you want and expect people to ignore it. Welcome to discussion boards.

True, but if someone doesn't agree with a post and think it's false, simply post facts to prove poster wrong. Everyone has an opinion. If everyone thought the same, there would be no need for message boards.

Which is why anyone who has an opinion should and does feel free to disagree with you. You can't use facts to prove an opinion.

I typically don't attack other posters... at least I try not to do so. I didn't see my post as an attack. I apologize if you took it that way.

And yet you responded to my post. You obviously didn't agree (which is ok). I didn't take it as an attack. ;)

My beef is that the regular season should mean something. It is STUPID that liberty could make "the big dance" after having a losing record, just because they won a few games in a "conference championship." The same is true with "march madness." I think, for the most part, the "best" teams end up playing at the end... but not always.

Each sport is unique, and how a "champion" is crowned should be different in each of those sports. "march madness" is too popular and makes too much money to ever go away... but it is still stupid. Is Wisconsin really a better team than Kentucky? Who knows? They certainly deserve to be in the conversation, but "best of three" would have been fun to watch.

WOW, that eagle flying around during the national anthem was awesome. Would be great if we could duplicate that at The Bill.

Yea, I hope JB and McKay were texting the administration about finding us a live eagle for LU games! :typing

Ballcoach, I love ya bro, but just because someone offers a differing opinion from yours, and states their disagreement does NOT MEAN THEY ARE ATTACKING YOU!

For the record, I love the live eagle idea as well

Again, king of the obvious. :I chortle audibly.:
Come on bama, get it straight! His official flamefans title is "Captain Obvious" (and the post above is a classic example of why 8) ).

Post season is a necessity in all sports. it gives everyone a shot at winning a championship. Regular seasons would be a joke if 80% of the teams were eliminated halfway thru the season. Regular season games are for seeding purposes come tournament time.

Actually, I think the decision to have something like that would probably be JB's anyway, so the text would be to someone like Gurity or Keys to get to work on it.

I think it would absolutely be worth it, but to have a mascot like that would be pretty costly. Besides purchasing the bird you would need a large enclosure to house it, but the big thing is you would either need to pay a trainer or have someone on your staff go to be trained on how to do it. It would no doubt be cheaper to just hire someone who had a trained bird on a contract basis, but having our own (in a big enclosure like they have at Dollywood, maybe up by the Snowflex lodge) would be sooooooooooo cool! I'm sure it would quickly become one of the main attractions for people visiting campus.

I can imagine Huffington Post now, "Liberty University, the school that captures wild bald eagles and puts them in oppressive cages..."

I love the idea but I'm sure we all know it would be spun that way. Maybe we could contact those folks at the Natural Bridge Zoo and they could help.

Let's not worry about how HuffPo will spin it. The bald eagle idea sounds amazing. We just need to make sure it doesn't hit any planes landing/taking off at LYH.

We won't do it because Auburn already does it.

I haven't been to the Natural Bridge zoo in a long time, but if we wanted to go with a bald eagle, there aren't many people with experience/expertise in keeping and training them, and I believe most of them now work at Dollywood, where the American Eagle Foundation is based, with the 30,000 sq. ft. Eagle Mountain Sanctuary aviary.
