This is the dumbest thing you have ever said.
He's come up small in big situations. If he plays the ball to the corner, the US wins. Why play for possession there? Makes no sense.

I think Bradley went for a shot and missed which led to the goal.

EDIT: He did send the pass through that led to the second goal.

I have said dumb things but this is spot on. He can't settle the ball to save his life. His passes are soft and easily picked off. He played like crap last game and his cough up led to to notes tying goal.
Seeing the replay I'm not convinced he let anything through. He is melting on the big stage. And I'm not alone in my assessment

So we're going to completely forget all of the chances that he set up in the first half? We're going to forget the chance he had on goal that Portugal barely blocked? He played an incredible first half. Yes, he made a mistake that led to the tying goal, but to say he needs to be benched for a few mistakes shows how little you paid attention to the entire game and how quick you are to write off a player. Ronaldo played horrible for 94 minutes and 30 seconds. It's soccer. You can't make decisions off of one play.

What chances in the first half did he set up?
You mean the shot where the goal was open and he couldn't put it in the back of the net by beating a defender?
How many turnovers did he have?
Add to that the Ghana game and yes he sits. Every time the ball comes his was I cringe because I have no idea where his first touch is going. Usually about 8 feet in front of him and he's racing a defender to gather it.

To say he played well shows how little you watched the game. I will say he played better than he did against Ghana, which isn't saying much.

We were watching two completely different games if you're finding all negatives from Michael Bradley.

I was watching the game most Americans were watching. You must have been watching him against Nigeria :D

Oh and that blistering shot from distance that took about 15 minutes to reach the keeper

The distance shot was poorly hit. I'll fully admit that.

I don't think he played a great game by any means. I would agree with the grade that ESPN gave him (6). However, to say we're better off with him on the bench is crazy.

I said, "I can't believe the US is actually going to win this" with 30 seconds left. Sorry America.

Whoever we have behind him can't be any worse. ESPN gives grades? If it is 6 out of 100 I totally agree :)

Bradley is our best option, but he needs to get his act together fast for Germany and potentially the knockout round.

His final turnover was absolutely abysmal and indefensible considering the circumstances.

I'm a 100% Klinsmann supporter. I find it difficult to believe though we don't have someone better on the bench. Or at least equally as bad but with upside :D

I hope that Klinsmann stays around. He's the best thing to happen to US soccer in a long time, but he also marches to the beat of his own drum (see his run with the German national team).

I think we had a 5 or 4 on three break in the 2nd half with Bradley leading the way, of course his pass when to a defender. I also believe the announcer saying Bradley was standing around taking a picture on another play.

Agree. And I think the results show that his plan is progressing nicely. All true Liberty fans should be excited about 2018 in Russia. If we stay the course.

Having had a few hours to digest. Bradley was still awful. But it's because he was playing scared. You can see it n his passes, he doesn't want to make a mistake and that's how he is playing. Just play the game. You have already screwed up big time, and that was only the 2nd biggest screw up of the night!
But he's been awful the last 2 games. He COULD be the difference maker against Germany. Or his replacement could be :D

ESPN gave him a 5.

The final 30 seconds of that game was just awful. The substitutions that JK brought in all played well and did what they were supposed to do. Wondo advanced the ball from midfield to the corner flag on Portugal's side vs. two defenders. Deandre Yedlin played like he was Flash Gordon for 10 minutes pushing the ball up the field and then racing back to put pressure on Portugal. He won the ball outright twice doing that in the final 5 minutes. Each player made a contribution to protect that lead in the final 10 minutes, except for Bradley and then Cameron in marking the man making the run. Sure... the ball was a good one from Ronaldo and he chose a good time to make a play that night, but Bradley... for as much as he's been pumped up, should not have given the ball away like he did. He should have crushed it high and up field to kill more time, not tinker around with it at midfield as if Portugal's just going to concede the win to you at that point. We got a result out of the match, but we didn't get the one we deserved and that's the key.

Hopefully, Bradley the Play-maker (not the play-breaker) shows up vs. Germany. Either that, or maybe JK can make a call to his buddy JL and convince them to play for a tie effectively resting his players and ensuring they go through as the #1 seed and us as the #2.

Bradley was not awful in this game. I find it laughable that he's being blamed for that last goal. Might as well blame Zusi for taking so long getting off the field when substituted. That added an additional minute to stoppage time. That last goal was an entire-team breakdown. I thought Bradley was pretty solid most of the game. But what do I know, I guess I should spend more time reading the comments and grades on espn articles.

That first goal was just abysmal, though. And if Howard didn't have his butt on the ground, he would have been in good position to make a save.

The biggest plus in the game: we put shots on goal! Dang, it's about time.

This was a terrible missed opportunity, though, because it's possible we could have been playing Algeria in the next round.

ESPN gave him a 5.
The initial ESPNFC grade after the game was a 6. I can't disagree with a 5. Most people had him between a 5-6.5 or so.

Howard had no shot to save that goal. I blame him for the last goal far more than letting up the first one.

Bradley was better than in the Ghana game for sure. The last goal resulted in a phenomenal pass from Renaldo. However, if Bradley had done what he was supposed to, and it wasn't very difficult, Renaldo never would have had that chance
I just saw Bradley's 2 feeble attempts from distance. Again. :brownbag

He had no shot to save it because he was sitting on the ground sticking his legs up in the air. I'm not saying he definitely makes the save, but Nani basically had an open goal in front of him.
