If this turns out to be the case, sounds like the News Office and SID will be working some serious overtime tonight and tomorrow

That allows both cart and horse to be in their correct position when that deadline approaches if not before.Didn't say it wouldn't happen but doesn't sound like a lock yet
BuryYourDuke wrote:My gut is that we have the support now, Benson says they will add a 12th. The only question in my mind is whether or not JMU gets scared and decides they want in the belt. I know for sure that they had previously said thanks but no thanks. However, if they see we will be in if they aren't, I can see them panicking. The clearly see the SBC as beneath them. A friend of mine said it's considered the Duck Dynasty Conference. In fact, it's almost to the point where if they (SBC) WANT Liberty it proves how beneath them (JMU) it truly is.
jlread wrote:So if we get this invite why can't we make this fall our transition season? Maybe drop brevard and Bryant games and add any FBS school in the 50 states that has a spot open to play us?!?! We already have 2FBS teams scheduled, do we need a certain minimum of FBS teams scheduled to declare this a transition year ?? If the sunbelt is desperate enough to get us in so they can start a championship game maybe one of the schools could drop it's by week and play us if it's the same time as our by week!hahaSame problem we face now. Who would want to play us? It's not like people are lining up to play a game in Lynchburg.
Purple Haize wrote:You heard it hear first hot off the pressPH's original prophecy is above. Breaking it down, PH sounds like he has two pieces of news, JMU declining, and LU getting the invite. Could both pieces of news come from the same source? Its unlikely that the same person would know both things unless he was someone of pretty high clearance. What am I hinting at.. PH found out that JMU declined, and he used his own deductive reasoning, which weve seen to be impeccable to date on this board, to declare Liberty getting the voided spot. PH I hope your not wrong.

I think it would be worth traveling if not we could afford to pay them to come here!! Plus who cares about a buy out for a game. We make it rain dollar bills all over campus why not spend it on football ! Schedule a school that would benefit most from the sunbelt having a championship game(Arkansa state? Maybe)
Purple Haize wrote:PH is right (point for you btw)...there is a whole lot more that goes into scheduling than you might think jlread...its not like we can just pick up the phone and say (even if this was a transitional year), "Hey Middle Tennessee, why don't you blow up one of your games and come to Lynchburg and play us. We will buy out one of our games and pay you to come here...yeah you will have to pay your own buyout but it doesn't matter to us...we can MAKE IT RAIN!"
