I have tried to stay away from the Sun Belt board since last year. We were dismissed outright, made fun of, and maybe used to push JMU to make a decision that never came. I have just in the past few days checked back over there and have been pleasantly surprised to see much more support and tolerance for us. There are a few that are against us, but not nearly as many as last year. Maybe we have a chance with their Presidents.

There are gluten free waffles! And you describe the cleaning up after the eating waffles. They still love waffles just not the mess!

I went over to the Georgia Southern forums and do we really want to join a conference with fans who think the NCAA has the right/authority to tell member institutions to change their policies. If we are supposed to go to an FBS conference they will come calling. When the expansion of Williams Stadium is done it won't be long after that.

I wouldn't let a couple of blowhards on some message boards discourage anyone. If we get the invitation from the Sun Belt, it won't take long for the ridiculous insults to dissipate.

Noticed on one sunbelt board they Had Lamar vs Liberty as a new member. Is that even a discussion in the real world? I haven't heard much about Lamar.

They just started football back up a few years ago and draw just a shade below us in attendance. But the only thing they have on us is location inside the existing footprint. On the other hand, the idea of having a longtime weak sister of the Southland is particularly appealing to most of the old Southland alumni in the Sun Belt. They were mentioned frequently as a potential partner in a WAC football league a year or so ago that never materialized.

#Liberty has improved it's position with current #SunBelt members. A long shot during last summer is more of 50/50 at the moment.

Sorry, we had an earthquake here last night (4.4) and I have been without power for the last four days. I just thought that it will cause some of the Liberty detractors to pitch a fit if we are invited. I would imagine most of the Sun Belt fans would not care. Heck, I'm not even sure how our fan base will react if we are invited. I would care.
