im not saying they will be 10-1. i'm saying, like SJ already said, 500. if they can consistently be 500 or better i'll be happy. this year, i think 4 wins is a reasonable expectation. if you don't think thats possible, you don't think duke will ever win more than 2 games a year you are crazy. and FFG, duke already has good athletes on the team, they are just not in shape and have not been coached any. coaching is what takes players from talented to great players.

manson, i'm not sure why your so down on duke football, but i think you'll be taking back what you said come november

w/e you want to call them, thats what duke has. they will be much better this year, which obviously isn't that hard.
by your definition, duke will have good athletes this year. no, they will not beat the powerhouses, but dont be surprised when they get a couple acc wins this year and even more in the future

I'm saying you can't be a good athlete if you can't take the skill set you have and translate it out on the playing field for more than a half of football without getting too tired to be of any impact on the field for your team. yea maybe you have to skill set and ability to be a good athlete but until you can actually translate that on the field enough to make an impact i don't think you truly are a "good athlete".

Let's not boast too much about putting money in the program. That $5 million goes towards this...

but toilets isn't all they're getting. there completely renovating the walkway around the top of the stadium. its going to improve the look of the stadium alot

My professor at my other college had played football for dook back when they were decent...so I've got some inside stories you probably don't even know about.

I went there a few times. The most recent was to watch Navy beat the snot out of them.....which they did.

if duke wins 3 or 4 games this season, plays 3 or 4 close games but can't pull through, and flat out loses 3 or 4 games... i would be happier than i've been in the past. that's already a HECK of a lot better than they've been. the program isn't going to turn around in one year, but bringing in a good coach is the start of something good for the devils. 4 wins and some closely played games is not a crap season for a school that's been losing like medic in a dunk contest. there has to be a beginning for there to ever be anything else... i'm excited for duke.
