RM, BJJ (spelled Brazilian Jiu Jitsu) doesn't involve beating the tick out of people in bars. let me guess, somebody choked you out and now ur bitter about it. beating the tick out of people in bars is called a bar fight.

and your right, after college there is no pro league for them to go into. thats why many of them go on to be very successful in the business world. oh and a bunch go on to the military to run special ops, etc... why? because they know how to push their bodies to the limit.

and postman, i didn't make your point for you. i was talking about basketball having a high incidence of fights and other thuggish behavior. you were talking about MMA (most likely about The Ultimate Fighter on spike tv, because that is how anyone not actively involved in the sport gets most of their information on the sport) and yes, for ratings purposes they make that show about as crazy as possible, and fill the house with the most explosive mix they can find. but other than that show, you will have to look hard to find thuggish behavior among the atheletes, and the reason you see more about that on basketball than MMA, is simply because it happens more in basketball than in MMA and in the MMA world, its simply not tolerated.

oh, well you should specify... they have a ton of those all over the quad cities and random places in IA... half the guys that promote them are all over the UG (an mma board im on...) that is actually MMA because BJJ is strictly grappling, no striking...

and theres absolutely nothin wrong with it. BUT not everyone who does bjj does mma, actually most people that do BJJ dont ever do an MMA fight.

and MRSA happens every once in a while. although usually its a more common form of staph, not something as virulent and drug resistant as MRSA. but the reason everyone would be shocked if the bball team got it is this:

they know wrestlers work hard everyday... basketball... not so much :P booyah!

oh, and while im sure there is argument about if wrestling is the greatest sport, its certainly the oldest, and the most pure. one on one, no excuses, no crybabies.
