uhh no. The lesser teams are just thrown in for some excitement. You can think of the 1st round as just a round to include every conference. If you're a bubble team and you didn't make it in, you didn't deserve to make it. You may have been more deserving than the ASun winner, but go pound sand, you should have won more games in the regular season. Which also proves why the regular season does matter. The meathod they have now allows for a cinderella team to make some noise, which is exciting, but still ensures one of the best teams in the country to win the whole thing.

I don't see you complaining that the NFC has to be represented in the Superbowl. Why don't we just get the 12 best teams in the NFL and seed them accordingly? Then we could have the Chargers vs the Pats in the Superbowl.

While you may be right the NFC doesn't have very many good teams this year. However, they all get sorted out in the end and the better team usually pulls it out. It all depends on the strength of your division and conference. We'll see how the #2 Saints do since they had a good record but they play in the NFC South. The good teams will be there in the end, this year was crazy because teams were too inconsistent. Besides who would your twelve teams in the playoffs be anyway. Here are mine.

If you took UF outright, you could have made some money. PA, taking points decreases your pay-out, so if you took Fla straight you did well, not so well if you took the points they were given. But then line wasn't that ridiculous, Vegas doesn't listen to the hype and media, though they can be somewhat influenced, and that's how they set the initial line.

This game was horrendous, unless your a gator fan of course. All the hype about ohio st. and how florida didn't belong here and they just humilated (the) ohio st. buckeyes. Horrible game, boise st. would probably beat ohio st. This also was probably bad for Fox's ratings. TERRIBLE!!

Under the late Randy Walker, Northwestern ran a bizarre option offense out of a spread pistol formation. It's not quite what UF runs but it's close. Also, OSU had been studying Florida's game film for 51 days. Those guys have no excuse for not being ready.

studying game film and facing it are so completely different....even practicing against it....there are a few sec teams that run these kind of offenses so its much easier i think to prepare if you've faced it before....this is what we tried, this didn't work, this did....big ten has usually been traditional non mobile to semi mobile qb, 50/50 run/pass, power running game...

but yeah ohiost def did not show up....but i think most outcomes of alot of bowl games would be different if it was only a few weeks after the season ended....nowhere in any other sport do you have this much of a stupid gap between regular season and "post season" games....its dumb

I'm not saying that OSU shouldn't have had problems with Florida. Florida is a very good team (obviously) and, yes, I would expected OSU's defense to be a little suspect against an offense they hadn't matched up with before. However, -- I should have expanded my statement -- it was OSU's offense that lost the game for them. They gained less than a 100 yards all night and kept giving UF's offense fantastic field position. Florida wasn't doing anything unconventional on the defensive side of the ball and the Buckeyes should at least have been ready for that.

after having watched about 3 or 4 florida games this year....i'll say that this was an entirely different team last night....props to meyer for what he did with his month off

I wouldn't say Florida last night was entirely different, they just finally put it all together...they did different things well throughout the season to get wins...last night they put all those elements together and made Ohio State look bad...And that is exactly what they did they MADE ohio state look bad...I don't think any team in the top 25 could've beat Ohio State last night...but Florida had the perfect game plan and came out fired up....they are coached very well and it showed today...I am a Florida State fan like I have said, but I know Florida is a good team, and I knew they were much much much better then people gave them credit for...and finally they put all elements of the game together and killed Ohio State....Give Florida all the credit..
