Please, the last time a team from Texas won was in 2005. Texas won in 2005 and 2002, Rice in 2003. Unless you're suddenly getting all cozy with LSU...
The Eastern Time Zone essentially has two titles in the last decade and a half thanks to South Carolina's run a few years back. Only one team north of Columbia, SC in the Eastern Time Zone has ever won a title before this week ... and that was over six decades ago.
And for the record, I can get to LSU quicker than I can TCU. Houston also has the largest alumni base of LSU anywhere in the country ... including New Orleans & Baton Rouge. They also have a local radio affiliate here and are higher up the food chain of attention in the Bayou City than either UH or Rice. But inside your Downtown Dallas bubble that might be tough to recognize. YOu still think more people in Dallas care about SMU than UT or A&M.
So more people in Houstonc are about LSU than UT-Austin, as we refer to it here in Dallas, the city symbolized by the STAR. I didn't say more people cared about SMU, but UT-Austin is far from dominant here.
Secondly, Texas is not in the Pacific time zone, Texas doesn't have LSU within the state or any SEC team until A&M joined :-p
