Why do you conclude that the "really bad parts of downtow[n]" are where African-Americans are? Are you saying that those parts of town are bad because of a heightened African-American population?

The n-word was pervasive back then as well. Is that no longer offensive? At this point I'd imagine you'll say it isn't and people are race baiting by being offended by that word as well.

But my overall point is that if the the word is offense, why is it in such use amongst those who would find it offensive?

In addition, I attended middle school at Addison in Roanoke City. I'm pretty sure I know what's acceptable, and how to relate to those who may not share my background. The beauty of it? It really doesn't even matter! We should all be respectful to all people as not only decent humans, but as Christians. But you simply cannot compare the historical term of the "n" word to the Redskins. It's impossible.

If you're stupid enough to think that Snyder would say anything other than this publicly, especially when the fanbase still wants to keep the name, then you probably shouldn't comment on it. It's really not difficult for people with functioning human brains to realize a businessman like Snyder will say one thing publicly while preparing a contingency plan for if/when that position can no longer be held.

It's funny how Snyder had been holding back on the "never going to change" comments recently, but with the latest challenge and the national poll that was more in favor of keeping the name than the local ones have been, he's feeling his oats again and goes back to the stronger rhetoric. The moment a successful lawsuit forces a name change, Snyder will do it in a heartbeat and make a public statement about how he didn't want to but was legally forced to. He's playing the situation perfectly.

As an African-American person myself, I personally find that that community is as racist, if not more so, than the white community and it bothers me to see them practicing many of the things that white people are being criticized for. Also, as someone who is son of a former resident of Washington, D.C., I think its silly to change a name that has been synonomous with the NFL for more than 80 years
