App St with a 22 yard TD with :22 left to beat Samford 28-25 on the road.

Brutal fumble by CCU deep in SB territory with a couple of minutes left pretty much iced the game. 27-21 SB final.

W&M miss a 31 yard FG with :02 left and are going to OT at JMU.

Southern Utah 30-20 over a mediocre, at best, Montana team.

EWU with a big win, 27-24, at Montana State.

Villanova with the last 35 points of the game to win 38-14 at ODU.

JMU beats W&M 27-26 in 2 OT.

Indiana State with a 17-14 win at North Dakota State.

Big day of FCS upsets and the rankings should look a bit silly next week.

5:38 left in the 1st half, Mid American Nazarene 14-10 over Gardner Webb.

Bad call at the end of ND-Stanford with ND getting the 20-13 OT win.

After a 1 hour plus weather delay, and Oklahoma St. running away from Kansas 20-0, suddenly Kansas has popped two quick TDs and the score is 20-14 with 8:52 remaining.

Under 5 minutes left and Mid American Nazarene is up 28-23 over Gardner Webb and has the ball.

Somehow the ESPN update on the game took GW from having a 1st and goal from the 4 to scoring an 87 yard TD with :06 left to win it 30-28. Glad they didn't lose to an NAIA team after nearly taking us down. Nevermind, they changed it to a 13 yard TD pass to win it.

Georgia Southern stopped Wofford's unbeaten start 17-6 as the SoCon seems to be slipping back towards the norm.

SC up 7-3 over LSU, Indiana is somehow up 14-10 over Ohio State, and there are two interesting late matchups in Tennessee at Mississippi State and Texas A&M at Lousiana Tech.

Texas A&M is taking a trip in the wayback machine all the way to last season. 27-0 lead to start, 39-16 at the half, 46-23 with 5:44 left in the 3rd and now it's 46-44 with 11:59 left in the 4th. There's something still horribly wrong with this team's ability to hold a lead.

Just when I think aTm has gotten it right and finished someone off, with a 59-44 lead, they give up a 62 yard TD and then a successful onside kick to Louisiana Tech with 1:45 to go and the score 59-51. Just amazing how adept they are at finding new ways to lose.

:38 left, La. Tech scores to make it 59-57 aTm. Failed 2 point conversion. Time for another onside kick attempt.

59-57 final.

Seriously Oregon, seriously? How do you get a 43-7 lead with 9 minutes left in the 2nd quarter against what was supposed to be your best opponent so far this year?

Washington is better by miles, not quite sure how you can say Arizona State was supposed to be the best "by far"

Here's a little preview for tomorrow.

FBS:

Early games are the strongest.

12pm sees #24 Iowa St (4-2) at Oklahoma St. (3-2), #15 Rutgers (6-0) at Temple (3-2), VT (4-3) at #19 Clemson (5-1), Minnesota (4-2) at Wisconsin (5-2) and #6 LSU (6-1) at #18 Texas A&M (5-1). That's a pretty solid start to the day with the highlight being Johnny Manziel having a chance to put himself in Heisman consideration against LSU.

At 3pm THE BAND IS ON THE FIELD! on Fox. 3:30 gives us #7 South Carolina (6-1) at #2 Florida (6-0), Nebraska (4-2) at Northwestern (6-1) in a game where the B1G has got to be rooting for a Northwestern win, BYU (4-3) at #5 Notre Dame (6-0), and #17 Texas Tech (5-1) at #23 TCU (5-1). 4pm gives us a significant Sun Belt game with ULM (4-2) at Western Kentucky (5-1).

The late games are a fairly weak bunch. 7pm gives us UNC (5-2) at Duke (5-2), #4 Kansas State (6-0) at #13 West Virginia (5-1) and #21 Cincinnati (5-0) at Toledo (6-1). I'm not sure why Cincy is playing at Toledo, but that's got the look of an unnecessarily tough OOC game at this point in the season especially with a game at Louisville on Friday. 8pm throws in Penn State (4-2) at Iowa (4-2), #14 FSU (6-1) at Miami (4-3), and Baylor (3-2) at #25 Texas (4-2) which proves that giving up 111 points in 2 games is not enough to knock you out of the idiotic BCS standings. If you've got CBS Sports Network, SD State (4-3) at Nevada (6-1) seems like a decent enough nightcap at 10:35.

FCS:

There's not a whole lot other than teams like Tennessee St (7-0), Harvard (5-0), Samford (5-1) and ODU (5-1) trying not to trip up against teams that are around .500. There are also a couple of questionable ESPN3 game choices from conferences that have much better games to offer like the Southland having Nicholls State (1-4) at Stephen F Austin (2-4) and the SoCon having Western Carolina (1-6) at Elon (2-4) making it to the air. Who knows how/why ESPN3 is carrying Presby at CSU.

The key matchups seem to be JMU (5-1) at Richmond (4-3) at 3:30, Wofford (5-1) at App. St. (5-2) at 3:30, S. Illinois (4-3) at YSU (4-2) at 4, Sacramento St. (5-2) at EWU (5-1) at 7:05, and McNeese St. (4-2) at Sam Houston St. (4-2) at 8pm.

There's not much else going on with a lot of lopsided records facing each other. Montana is going to have to try and start salvaging their season at North Dakota and Norfolk St. is on the road at Bethune Cookman. Those "tough" opponents of ours have a lot of work to do to get through the season with winning records.

Presby @ CSU is on the Big South Network. I assume that's why ESPN3 picked up. Not sure why that game was picked by BSN though.

A&M brought their big boy pants, with a 9-0 lead in the 1st quarter, and are a chop block call away from it being 13-0. Iowa State is hanging with Okie State 7-7 early on. Minnesota missed an XP but is handing with Wisconsin early at 7-6.

Edit: Early 2nd quarter and LSU has run 14 plays to A&M's 11 first downs. Yikes.

Temple putting together a legit upset bid against Rutgers with a 10-0 lead at the end of the 1st half. A&M up 12-0 against LSU in the 2nd quarter.

I was stuck in traffic trying to get to Austin last night behind a monster line of traffic heading to College Station. LSU & Arkansas are the closest things that the Aggy fans have to a true rival since they ditched all their traditional rivals for SEC membership. The entire A&M community has been building up tot his game for quite awhile now. Kyle Field maybe torn down soon, but it is literally swaying back & forth right now.

LSU, with a bit of help, gets on the board at 12-7 and now A&M has turned the ball over again. Ball on the A&M 41 with :46 to play.

Another upset in the making is Purdue up 13-7 at Ohio State at halftime.

EDIT: Wow A&M, two turnovers in the last 5 minutes and you cough up the lead? 14-12 LSU at the half.

ESPN Goal Line just went to the Army-Eastern Michigan game (on ESPN3) and EMU has the worst jersey's I've seen worn in a FBS game. It really looks like they're wearing gray practice jerseys with their green pants/helmets. It's a very pee wee football look.

Tech getting handled by Clemson, Rutgers with a 35-0 2nd half to remain undefeated, A&M missing FGs like that's what you're supposed to do, Iowa State getting a bit of a reality check at Okie St., and Purdue inexplicably beating OSU on the road. Pretty odd early games today. Oh, and Vanderbilt is all but putting the nail in the coffin for Gene Chizik today.

Edit: Refs just GAVE Ohio St. a first and goal with a bad PI call against Purdue with :08 left. OSU scores with :03 left and needs the 2 pt conversion to tie and force OT. Scoring play under review. Tie ball game. Purdue gave up a huge play before the PI call so they share a good chunk of the blame on that one.

Ohio St gets the 29-22 OT win, Vandy beats Auburn 17-13, and LSU holds off A&M 24-19.

Stanford is in the process of curb stomping Cal, SC/Fla is a defensive battle (more penalty yards than rushing yards so far), Northwestern is up 7-3 on Nebraska, ND has an early lead on BYU, the wet noodle battle of Michigan is going on, TCU is up on Texas Tech 10-7 in the 2nd quarter, and WKU is up on ULM 7-0.

On the FCS side Coastal blew out VMI, Tennessee St suffered their first loss in OT at Jacksonville St, JMU is up on Richmond 10-6 in the 2nd quarter, Wofford is up 10-7 at App St in the 2nd quarter, North Dakota is up 17-7 over Montana, and YSU has a 7-3 lead over S. Illinois.

Edit: Throw in Norfolk St trailing to Bethune Cookman 14-0 in the 1st quarter. Montana now down 24-14 at UND. Pretty much ensuring our tough opponents really weren't.

2nd big FCS upset of the day taking place as (1-6) Missouri State is up 24-14 over (6-1) Illinois State with 1:03 to go. Wofford is now up 17-7 at App St. Stony Brook is only up 10-3 against GW in the 2nd quarter.

Auburn became the first team ever in AP Poll era to start 1-6 within two years of winning a national title. Gene Chizik now is 22-35 as a head coach without Cam Newton. But I guess it still isn't Chizik's fault...

Montana WOKE UP in the 3rd quarter and now leads 34-31 at UND. Wofford up 38-28 at App St with about 4 minutes left and the ball. Richmond up 28-16 on JMU with 7:10 to go. Bethune Cookman up 41-3 over Norfolk St. SB up 41-10 over GW in the 4th. S. Illinois up 24-21 at YSU late in the 3rd.

Nothing has changed with Stanford-Cal since halftime. Florida is beating up South Carolina 37-8. ND 17-14 over BYU in the 4th. Northwestern 21-16 over Nebraska in the 4th. Maryland, with a backup WR in at QB is up 18-17 on NC State in the 4th. MSU 10-9 over Michigan in the 4th. TCU with a 26-21 lead over Texas Tech with about 11 minutes to go. Western Kentucky 28-21 over ULM in the 3rd.

Maryland true Freshman QB Hills gets knocked out in the 2nd quarter and they play with a backup QB until the final drive of the game and take the redshirt off another Freshman QB, Caleb Rowe, who drives them down to the NC State 13. The UMD Freshman kicker, who had already missed an XP, misses the short FG and NC State wins 20-18. Texas Tech-TCU is in OT tied 36-36. Western Kentucky and ULM tied 35-35 with :31 left in regulation.

North Dakota beats Montana 40-34 and Bethune Cookman beats Norfolk State 48-3.

Dook 20 UNC 6 at halftime. KState embarrassing WVU for the 2nd week in a row. Middle Tennessee, missing their top RB, playing very tough at #Mississippi State, trailing 10-3 in the 3rd. Toledo leading #21 Cincinnati 16-13 at halftime. I still don't understand Cincinnati taking that road game at this point of the season. Penn State 14-0 at Iowa in the 1st. Seriously, Bill O'Brien may be a legit coach of the year candidate if he keeps this up.

I agree but would the NCAA let this happen?
