3-1 USA now.
Dempsey gets credit for the goal, but Bradley's shot would have gone in anyway.

(Which was done because as night, people would get shot, and that's not a joke). The first Honduras goal was fantastic. There wasn't anything the U.S. could have done to stop it. Klinsmman picked the wrong time to rock the defensive lineup - it was the first time three of the back four had played together.
jbock13 wrote:Yes, the bicycle kick was unreal. But good news is the other two games were ties. So we're okay for now. I also agree about the back line... at times they seemed clueless.I still have confidence in SpecialK. He was doing the same thing with the Germans and they finished fine.

I can understand why Costa Rica is protesting the result, but honestly they should have stopped playing when they had the chance.Costa Rica's coach stated before the game that the weather would have no effect on his team. Then, once he realized the US team was doing a better job of adapting suddenly wanted the game stopped. Considering all the games played in sweltering heat in CR and other countries, the way Mexico plays all it's home games at elevation at the Azteca, and other obvious advantages, the Costa Rica squad needs to just shut up. Playing to your home field advantages is part of sports.
Haven't seen a game like that in quite a while.

What should I expect?

The atmosphere from the time I got on the Metro around noon to the time I got back to the station that night was incredible. I'm pretty sure the crowd reaction to Jozy's goal (first goal of the match) was the loudest man-made noise I've ever heard.01LUGrad wrote:My old LU roommate called and offered me a free ticket to the USA-Germany friendly in DC on 6/2.
