If you want to talk ASUN smack or ramble ad nauseum about your favorite pro or major college teams, this is the place to let it rip.

I'm the homer who picked him up off of the waiver wire in my fantasy league and started him just because. It worked out pretty well this week!

At some point during the offseason, the Jags are going to have to start making some hard decisions about how they look to the future at RB. Rashad is proving too good to be a mop-up player.

I agree. For teams looking for a running back, Rashad is going to be quite the option. They aren't moving MJD - he's a legitimate MVP candidate this season.

Some other stats:

Rashad is one of six players in the past 50 years to average 20 yards a carry.
His 70+ TD was the 4th longest of the season and the 5th longest in Jaguar history.

Me too! I'm going to win this week because of him.

I wouldn't be surprised if the Jags keep him if he is still under contract. While he isn't going to start as long as MJD is healthy (and he has been very durable), you need a MINIMUM of 2 quality running backs in the NFL today. It's not either starter or mop-up guy. If Rashad keeps being productive I can see him getting 10-15 carries a game for the jags.

It sort of irks me to see Tolbert get so much play for the Chargers simply because they don't have anyone else healthy though. We all know Rashad is a better back, but you have to give props to the bowling ball for doing a pretty good job with what fell in his lap.

Good Article about Jennings in JAX paper -
Jaguars’ Rashad Jennings ran on unexplored path to NFL
Backup running back now playing a key role in team’s resurgence

One day, Rashad Jennings just started running.

He ran three-and-a-half miles to the YMCA and then ran all the way back every other day in his home of Forest, Va. On weekends, he ran some more.

His mother thought he was crazy. People in the neighborhood wondered why he ran so much. Jennings was heading into his senior year of high school, and he had a thought that he could play football in college. But chubby and out of shape, as he tells it, few noticed him, so Jennings started running.

Thanks for the link, Proto.

The best part of the article IMHO was on the side ...
Q&A with Rashad Jennings

You’re close to your brothers Butch (38) and Bryan (35). How do they help you?

We just remind each other of what we set out to do and what our heart tells us to do. … [They’ll say] Rashad, remember when you were 6 years old? Remember when you were 15 years old? You had asthma, you were overweight, you were fat. You remember the ministry you wanted to build through the NFL?

You’re one of the fittest guys in the locker room. You were overweight as a kid? Were you made fun of?

I got fat, asthma and glasses. Chubby, overweight, I’m still a dork. But that kid that you would’ve looked at. Whenever I go around and talk to schools I always try to bring pictures. Baby picture or a picture when I was not who I am today to remind people that dreams ain’t far-fetched.

How does that affect how you are as an adult?

I love to learn from men and women who had to go through things. Whenever I go train, I never look to train with the fastest players that are just God-gifted fast. I train with the people who had to work. They had to figure out things along the way.
Oh yeah, it sounds like LU is practically a backwoods DIII technical school based on that article. Anybody else think staying in FCS anonymity is a great idea?

Rashad with another solid game yesterday - 3 rushes for 13 yards and 7 receptions for 64 yards. He was the Jags leading receiver.

Rashad about to get his 1st NFL start?
USA Today wrote:Jaguars RB Maurice Jones-Drew doubtful to face Redskins

The Jaguars could be without the focal point of their offense when they host the Redskins Sunday.

Running back Maurice Jones-Drew did not practice all week and is listed as doubtful on the team's injury report. Jones-Drew is nursing a knee injury and could be rested against Washington despite Jacksonville chasing a playoff spot. The Jaguars (8-6) can still win the AFC South by winning out and hoping the Colts (8-6) slip up.

Rashad will start today with MJD out.

He'll also start for the UTEP Miners in the FlameFans Fantasy Football Championship Game.

Fortunate he wasn't hurt when he landed on his face after being flipped near the end of the first half. There is an opportunity for some fourth-quarter heroics. Tied 10-10 late in third. Jags need a win.

Now tied at 17 and the Jags will get the ball back. Looks like it's going to OT.

In Jacksonville today, taking youngest son to airport to return to Lynchburg, listened on the radio. The local radio show guys, pretty much gave props to Rashad and said if MJD had been, probably wouldn't have been a different outcome. O-line just didn't come through. I was hoping for something positive and not a bunch of "we didn't have our starter". They did not blame loss on that.
