Ever hear of Ty Willingham? He went 44-36-1 with 4 bowl appearances in his 7 years at Stanford (1995-2001). Harbaugh is 24-23 right now and I'd say if he stays he has a shot at matching Willingham's mark, considering the young players he has coming back. But you never know. What Willingham did was extremely impressive, i think he also won an outright Pac-10 title one year? Although not 100% on that.

They also have a pretty storied history from back in the day -- a couple National championships earlier in the century and a regular Pac-10 champion in the 70s and 80s. I guess John Elway might have been a reason during the 80. Still, gotta be even tougher to recruit there now with academics, makes Notre Dame look like a cake walk.

Ah my bad...I thought you were talking about Harbaugh. Ambiguous pronoun ;)

Kansas was also pretty decent about 30 years ago though, they had a few Orange Bowl appearances in the late 60s and early 70s, and I think they finished 3rd overall right around 70. Don't know who the coach was but that era from 67 or so through 75, 76 they were pretty darn good. Mangino certainly has taken the program to a greater level of recognition -- but, its not exactly like they are a perennial power even in their own conference.

Kansas got to the 1969 Orange Bowl or maybe 1970 one and lost to Penn State late in the game due to 12 men on the field penalty. Kansas had the pre tebow QB at the time, name was Bobby Douglas, southpaw who played QB for the Chicago Bears and set the NFL record for rushing yardage by a QB until Vick broke the record before his conviction.

So are the 'Hoos just waiting on London to lose Saturday so they can hire him? Other than denials of interest from guys like Petersen I haven't heard a peep out of what is going down in Charlottesville.

It appears Harbaugh is negotiating the final numbers to go to Kansas which means a Pac-10 vacancy is coming.

And here is one that we might want to follow ...

Sumlin has held off on signing his extension at UH and if he doesn't land in Cincy, the Bearcats likely 2nd choice is a domino we wouldn't want to fall.

Oh yeah, it doesn't look like Coach Wach is getting the job at Sam ...

A) Is Cincy a better job than Wake?
B) Could Cincy pay more than $2.1 million?

Okay, I see the play on words. Skip Holtz to Cinci would be good for them. Liberty to ECU is a believable jump, and one I could see Rocco making. Would he really be their first choice?

Have you ever seen Wake Forest? They're not hurting on resources. When you have a top notch med school and a top notch law school, along with one of the best MBA programs in the state, you produce some people with some money.

I don't believe your question can be generalized that way. The question of who has more money has to be handled on a case-by-case basis.

And in this particular case...?

UC has the resources to be a contender year in & year out like their rival just down the river in Louisville.

As for the ECU/Marshall comparison it depends on your perspective. It is my understanding that ECU has more resources than their West Virginian counterpart.

Oh yeah, Turner Gill grabs the the job in Lawrence. He will be a monster recruiter in that region.
