A below average fielding 1B with power numbers that are terrible for 1B was the best option? Freeman was 5th best out of the options. He won because Braves and Blue Jays fans teamed up to rig the vote for the two of the least deserving options (the AL having 5 relievers listed was ridiculous on the face of it).

So, who are your favorites for MVP and Cy Young this year? Doesn't seem like anyone's really run away with it in either league.

In the AL, I'd go with Cabrera and Scherzer. But of course I'd say that, I'm a Tigers fan.
NL, hmm, Kershaw for CY, maybe? I have no ideas for MVP. McCutchen, probably, because of the miracle of the Pirates?

Clint Hurdle for National League MotY, Kershaw for Cy Young...I guess you could go with McCutcheon for MVP
AL Scherzer has to be the Cy Young winner, Francona for MotY and I agree with Cabrera for MVP

As a Bucs fan, I'd love to see McCutchen win MVP. Carpenter and Cuddyer probably have the edge offensively, but Cutch's defense could put him over the top. Wainwright or Zimmerman are other possibles for NL CY. Can't argue with Cabrera or Scherzer (21-3!) in the AL.

For those of us who have been watching, the Pirates aren't a miracle. I felt when they brought in Hurdle, this was just a matter of time. The young talent was there. Here's to hoping they can keep it.

Kershaw has a 1.88 ERA. Much more dominant than when Verlander won MVP. Kershaw should win MVP and CY.

Don't forget Wil Myers for AL rookie.

I agree that he won't get the votes, but I would vote for him. He probably should have won last year if it weren't for the voters being enamored with the fact that Cabrera won the Triple Crown. His Offensive WAR (Wins Above Replacement) has been higher than Cabrera's during both seasons.
