Okay, good. So take LU...then put Coastal, Radford, or Winthrop (whichever you hate the most) 8 miles down 29. LU fans & their fans go to the same mall, same restaurants, same movie theaters...players go to the same barber shop. Each school constantly trying to "one-up" the other in EVERYTHING (academics, athletics, community outreach, etc...).

Then, put their men's team in the Top 10, pretty much year in and year out. Oh, and there is 7 NCAA titles between the two, plus multiple Big South Titles (regular season and/or tournament). Oh yeah, we both recruit some of the same players, on top of all that. Mix in some national players of the year, first round NBA draftees, & Hall of Fame coaches....all with opposite philosophies about how to play the game. Throw in constant national media attention fueling the fire & maybe you'll get a taste of why Bryson, JDUB, SuperJon, TDDance, dickens, & myself dig into the trenches. It's a rivalry...and a darn good one, at that.

TDD's only a partial. He's a VT fan in football and claims Va Beach as home, not NC. He's lived in NC though so he gets partial credit.

Bryson, I don't even read the stuff Dickens posts because the only time he ever posts is to spew on Duke and most of the stuff is complete crap that people could say about any team.

The same type threads were made about Carolina when they were trailing in the second half. They hadn't even lost yet. Carolina fans weren't complaining about those threads. I'm sorry, it just bugs me when people complain about something and then do the exact same thing they're complaining about.

I'm ok with you posting the stuff because you have every right to as a Duke fan. However, if you post it, you can't complain when it comes from the other side.

there is difference between “throwing out some crap” the second unc loses their FINAL game of the season, and “throwing out some crap” the second duke loses ANY game DURING the season.

Hey, good news everyone, we don't have to sit through a game with either of those teams tonight (and thank goodness not both of them). We can actually watch some quality basketball between the two best teams in the country.

Kansas wins, I win the bracket contest. But I wouldn't feel bad if Memphis won, they've been the best team all year. Either way, it should be a great game (aka. acc-less game).

i love when gmtm runs his mouth though....he trashed on UF to me thinking it would tick me off when I said something about UNC losing....I hate UF more then I ever could hate Duke or UNC.....it was great

I love how the Duke fans, mainly Bryson and JDub on here, complain that the Carolina fans always try to start a crap throwing competition between Duke and Carolina, then the second Carolina loses they're both on here throwing out the same crap when there wasn't a single Carolina fan saying anything when Duke lost. I have been nice...Dook has been a program since 01 who has been built for Nov-Feb and has done virtually nothing come March... Dook will never play on the road outside of conference season unless it is a neutral court and I really think that it hurts them...The only good thing about the Heels lossing on Sat night is the fact that the bulk of the team will now return back for next year, although I would've perfered another banner.. For those who can't stand the Dook/Carolina rivalry just go to a game and you will fully understand it..

No I dont think that sort of thing WARRANTS mass suicidce and an act of God. I just filed that one under a bad choice of words to express my frustration as someone who shows absolutely no rooting interest in either team in any sport, particularly basketball. Considering that neither team will ever be what one would typically classify as "bad", I guess its just something that one learns to live with as an outside observer.
