His dad is 6'5", yesterday before the game they had a special and he and his dad were standing side by side. Steph was easily giving up 3 inches.

His dad at 250, is gonna look more like 6-7. At 170, Steph is gonna look more like 6-1.

The only way to tell for sure would be to get them standing back-to-back.

Okay, I love Curry's game as much as the next guy and I've even defended him on numerous occasions(before he got hot in the NCAA's too), but to say he'll have a better pro career than A.I is a bit much. AI absolutely carried his team to the Finals. While Steph certainly has the potential to have a good to great NBA career, saying he'll have a better career than Iverson is a bit premature.

if Coury thinks Rush, Chalmers, Collins and the rest of the Jayhawk crew made it hard on him just wait until someone like KoBe Bryant, Ron Artest, Bruce Bowen, and etc. are guarding him! If he thinks those Jayhawks make it tough for him to score he's faced nothing yet compared to what would get thrown at him in the NBA.

Why do you think that 6-7 players would be gaurding Curry in NBA? Do Artest and Bowen gaurd players like Parker, Iverson, and Nash? I would love to see Curry with big Ron Artest on him. Artest would look silly trying to gaurd him out on the perimeter.

Putting 30 on Georgetown's team D is far more impressive than any one-on-one match-up that he's likely to see in the NBA.

The obvious Iverson comparison was made because AI was the first overall pick in the draft, he's played both gaurd positions in the NBA, he's 3 inches shorter than Curry, he's listed 20lbs lighter than Curry---and the point was made that Curry is too small to be a top pick in the NBA.






I'll pose this question to all of the doubters: When is the last time that an NCAA player averaged 32ppg over four or more games in the tourney and didn't turn out to be a huge hit on the next level?

Austin Carr averaged 50 ppg in 7 NCAA tournament contests and had a fairly undistinguished NBA career, although in fairness he was hampered by injuries.

Carr was a former first overall draft pick, who had his moments as a pro, and would have been great if not for career altering knee and foot injuries. I don't think that he's ever been labeled a bust.


Bo Kimble was a lottery pick and a true NBA bust. But taken in context, Westhead's up-tempo scheme coupled with the then newly installed three point goal, both inflated Kimble's stats and caught the opposition off gaurd. If anything, Kimble was a system guy who benefitted from the early transition years of the initiation the three point goal. We have to give them credit for what they accomplished back then, but they wouldn't be able to pull it off in this era.

Curry transcends "system" and would make any NCAA team better.



So, if that's the best we can do, then the Curry situation looks promising, and has history on its side.

Can I just say that this conversation is making me laugh? Where do I begin. Better than Iverson? Are you out of your mind? That's all I have to say about that.

I can barely name 5 players on that sixers team from 2001 and there may not be a bigger Philly homer than me.

Iverson is every bit of 6-1. I know because I have stood next to him and spoke with him. Curry is about 6-2 to 6-3 to me. I think he was about my height. I know because I stood next to him and spoke with him.

I think it would be emotional to pick Curry in the 1st round at this stage of his career. There is so much more to making it at the next level than scoring in big games. He is not ready fellas. He may be ready in 2 years. He will be a decent pro. He will not be Allen Iverson or Ray Allen or Rip Hamilton. I love the kid and I hope he turns into all of that and then some but he is not there now. I don't even think Dell Curry thinks his son is that good at this stage despite the clutch performances in the NCAA games the past 2 years.

He will have to play the point at the next level. Yes 6-7 guys will be guarding him every night Dox. If not, 6-5 Dwayne wade or they will be athletic and strong like Arenas and Baron Davis at 6-3.

To name another person with big numbers in college and not be a good pro, how about Glen Robinson from Purdue. Danny Manning from Kansas. Lionel Simmons from LaSalle. Scottie Thurman from Arkansas. Ed Obannon from UCLA.

Curry is not the best perimeter player in the NCAA's. I would take Rose from Memphis any day of the week. Wow is he a stud! Again, I am a HUGE Curry fan and I can't wait for Seth to get here next season! Just adding my 2 cents.
