I know GMU isn't what everybody thought they would be but that's not the point. The things he was doing in that game was unreal. What was it, 2 game tying shots he made with little to no time left?

the trolls are coming out of the wood works. This has really driven FF mad.
:exactly we are in full meltdown mode right now. though it occurs on rare occasion (case and point Presby game thread) and a few other times in its existence it can be quite entertaining/ pathetic all at the same time.

Stephen wasn't at a power conference. He got recognized because he came up big for a small team when it mattered the most. If he was on Virginia or NC State or Tech, would we have cared so much about his story? I doubt it. He earned national exposure because he was at Davidson, not in spite of it. And because of the exposure, he's going to be in the NBA one day.

It's easy to criticize Seth. Really, really easy. There is a part of me that hopes he tears his ACL. But at the same time, Seth probably made a multi-million dollar decision. I've never had to make one with such magnitude. Maybe he hoped to be a March Madness darling, too. Then maybe he saw our conference champion, after busting its hump for an entire year, get its reward in the hands of a #16 seed and a date with North Carolina. There is no honor in that. There is no exposure. It's a lose-lose situation.

I wanted to transfer out of LU my freshman and sophomore years. I had the grades to go someone better. Ultimately I decided to stick it out at Liberty. I'm glad I did, if for no other reason than the opportunities that I had at Liberty would not have been available to me at a larger school. I co-hosted two talk radio shows on 90.9, did some play-by-play and color work, and headed up the op-ed & sports section of the student newspaper my senior year. Maybe I wasn't the best at my job, but I had fun doing it. And I'm eternally grateful for the experience. And I know that I was part of something bigger than me.

And I think that's what makes Liberty unique. I think that's why we have such awesome fans. We all see ourselves and our program as part of something bigger. And perhaps I can't express it better than Katie Feenstra did it when she helped the Lady Flames get to the Sweet 16: "Why not Liberty?... I could have gone anywhere, but God put me here for a purpose. I'm so thankful and blessed to be part of this team."

Let's hear them say that at VTech.

still its GMU!! i mean yes he played like a phenom in those moments, but where was he when it really counted, last night was one of the worst showings by him ever, he needed to step up with the season on the line and was nowhere to be found.. same goes for the 10 point effort against VMI... he was a no show when it really mattered

NO WAY! Lower level ACC in my opinion. I say Clemson, NC State, or Wake

How much does this screw us in the next couple of years? How often was the "play with a Curry" pitch used in recruiting? Was the team being built to compliment him? Was the scheduling being done to challenge him?

did you really just put Wake and Clemson in the "lower" ACC category? I think you meant... NC state, VT, UVA

Tradition is that if a kid commits to UNC at some point in the kids career UNC will play in his home town.... not sure that applies to you guys though... don't know where Seth is from.
I think if he was going to VaTech Greenberg would be screaming and pulling his eyebrow hairs out.... meaning, you would know!

Wake wouldn't be a bad choice for him, middle of the road ACC team i could see that as a good fit for him to be honest....

it doesnt screw us that bad, yes we lose our leading scorer but in the words of Coach Carter "Then I guess we will have a new leading scorer..." hahaha, but i see Jesse and Austin leading this team to great things in the near future, plus getting David Minaya and a good recruiting class should help

Seeing the timeline on this thing and his performance last night really has me hung up...I'm not a conspiracy theorist or anything, but make of it what you will.

seriously though. His shoes better not have any more writing on them. How do you justify the pride and arrogance in this decision. "Im an NBA caliber player (clearly from my performance this season) and I dont trust that if God has plans for me to play in the NBA it can happen through liberty, so im transferring to a school that my talent will not be used so veinly. Best of luck to Liberty, tho. But im a balla baby. Praise Jesus" - Seth (through his actions)

On the positive side: We won't take as big a hit after this freshman class graduates

Much more balanced now...

I suppose my statements about him staying out of loyalty of us being the ONLY PEOPLE giving him the credit we thought he deserved during the recruiting process is false....sorry for giving the benefit of the doubt

We will be just fine though...seriously...LU wasnt built by Curry's and and wont be destroyed by Curry's so everyone sleep well

1. It's bad. No way around it.
2. Probably a lot. It wouldn't surprise me if a verbal recruit backs out.
3. I bet.
4. You betcha.

for the record, i agree with HMO and everyone else. Im not ticked about this because we will never be good at basketball. I think this will turn out to be a good thing (as evidenced by Seths numbers next year, his great game last night, etc.) im just ticked because I thought he was better than that.
