speaking of NCST I was watching a march madness special the other night and of course they show that final play where he dunks it at the buzzer. Has anybody else noticed that that was probably the worst run end of game play of all time? They made like 4 sloppy passes that went nowhere, almost lost the ball and then heaved it from like halfcourt. Luckily the other team didn't feel like boxing out. When you watch it, you really think there's no way they can win this.

MD had a few good years, as did NCSU.

Keep using the words "traditionally", and all you have is NC and Duke.
Traditionally it was Everett Case & NCSU that brought basketball to North Carolina & help create the ACC. Traditionally it was the heated rivalry between Case & McGuire that brought national attention to the conference. Traditionally, dook had 3 F4 in the 60's then nothing else until '78. Traditionally there were NO dook fans in, my area around Raleigh, while I was in school until '91 & '92.

More recently, since around 1984 to present, has the dook/UNC rivalry took center stage. Up until then, it was a toss up between UNC, NCSU, & Maryland.

You are right. That's why they called them the "Cardiac Pack"...they had so many close games throughout the season.
