Good Lord, this thread has turned into something from the pages of Tiger Beat. Do you guys know what Redick and Hansborough like on their ice cream, too?

tyler is a great player. a REALLY great player. i don't like him... because he's a hole. i also don't feel like it should be humanly possible for him to make half the shots he takes. however, he always plays hard, and he's unstoppable... for the most part anyways.

i still hate him though. he travels. and how do you explain the fact that he's taken the most free throws in the acc... at around 390, and the second highest is singletary at 190ish. that's bull crap. i don't care if he's good, mj, shaq or anyone else... that is bull.

yeah, but:

1.) 390
2.) 190
.
.
.

he does take beatings, but there no way he should be shooting 200 more free throws right now than the 2nd place player...

OVERATED. Clap,Clap...Clap, Clap, Clap. OVERATED.

This guy is not that good - say what you want - he's the Mark Madsen of this era. He the guy in pick-up ball that is starting all kinds of fights because he's banging every play and he somehow gets the ball off and scores the close baskets. Tell me who's post game is that ugly in the NBA?

Again....we are talking about college basketball. I couldn't give two flying farts on how he is going to play in NBA. Right now, he's the best player on the best team in the nation. Most talented player? No...not even on his team. He's just the hardest worker.

I hate both UNC and Duke, but Tyler is a great player. I don't know if I've ever seen someone give as much effort as he does. I will never say I like him, but he is a hard nosed player, and I would love to have him on my team.

As for the NBA, if he's lucky he'll be able to ride some team's bench for several years.

Whatever his "will" desires... :)
Or probably #50 with some fringe playoff team like the Philly 76ers.

I see Tyler as a Shane Battier type -- as in, rides the bench for some teams, but is a solid contributor for the right one.

I agree completely that Hansbrough is a Battier-type player in terms of the NBA. He's going to work his butt off for rebounds and play defense. In the right system he'll be a very solid role player and make more money than the rest of us on here can imagine.

The UNC hype machine wins again.

The real POY is a freshman in Memphis who is the best player on the best team in the nation. You'll all realize that by Tuesday morning.

We'll see about that. Hansbrough has been solid all year but arguments for Beasley could be made. I don't see any argument that can legitimately be made for Rose who wasn't even nominated...

Douglas-Roberts began the season on the watch lists but anyone who follows the CUSA (sadly this includes me) knows that Rose is the best player. He should go right after Beasley in the draft. Michael is the best player in the nation but he played on a crappy team at K-State. If we would've spent this past season in Chapel Hill or Durham then RESPN would be helping the folks in Springfield clear out his own wing of the Hall.

Hey, Jameer Nelson won this thing in '04 over Okafor so we all know they can get it wrong. And obviously did this year as well.

See, I would say Nelson over Okafor would be the same as Beasley over Hansbrough. Nelson was all the Hawks really had, while Okafor was the solid foundation of a great team. Beasley was really all K-State had, while Hansbrough is the solid foundation of a great team. Looks like the committee didn't want to repeat the mistake they made in '04.

I think you are smoking. K-State has a potential lottery pick in Bill Walker. St. Joseph's had Delonte West - who was drafted 24th in the 2004 NBA Draft. I have to say that's being more than just a one-man team. That's like saying all Davidson has is Stephen Curry...

The latest on Walker is late first round, early second round....much like West. IIRC, West gained more notice because of the success of Nelson. I never said they were one-man teams. Notice I said, "all the Hawks really had". He wasn't their only option, but he was their main option.
