So is UMass.

If Richmond knocks off Wofford, that'll leave exactly 0 autobid teams left in the bracket.
yeah. And the BSOUTH is such a pathetic league, we could NEVER compete w/ these teams

Sorry crowd at Wofford. The seats behind the Richmond bench are no more than half full and it looks like a pretty small stadium. RU up 14-10 with 10 minutes to go in the 4th.

Wofford's stadium is small...at least it looked that way in the spring when I saw it.

Richmond beats Wofford. Semifinals look like this:

Richmond @ Appy State
Deleware @ Southern Illinois

I am a little surprised by what is happening in the 1AA playoffs. It seems like the top seeds are all gone like McNeese, Montana, N Iowa, and UMass. With the 4 teams that are left you would have to favor App State since they have been there before and do well in clutch situations. Hard to believe Delaware is advancing as they probably didn't deserve to be there in the first place. But 1AA is changing as there is more parity across the board as evidenced by JMU, W Kentucky, and Delaware winning national champions after the Marshall/Youngstown/GA Southern domination years.

As for LU the message is loud and clear for them to upgrade the schedule or get into a more competitive conference as I believe that we could compete against some of these teams and maybe pull off an upset or 2 but I guess it is wishful thinking or maybe I am being overly optimistic. The bottom line is we didn't do our part in the games that meant the most.

To think Delaware doesn't deserve to be in the playoffs is completely ignorant. They're 8-3 in the toughest conference in the country with a win over Navy.

Our schedule doesn't need to be that much tougher, we just need to do what we are doing next year, more d-1 games, less d-2 games. that's really all we need to do.

Which is what we're doing next year. If, at this point on December 2, you don't realize why we had the schedule we did this year, you never will.

Well, the top 3 seeds are already knocked, #4 Southern Illinois is the only one remaining. They take on Delaware @Delaware. Richmond is at App State.

Jon, explain how they determine the home games again. Is it just a matter of who will generate more revenue for the NCAA or are there other factors? Southern Illinois shouldn't have to go on the road to play against a team not in the top 4 when they are #4, and App has had every game at home even though they didn't win their conference.

First round games are determined by bids and revenue. After that, it goes by bracket. App was in the bracket of the #1 team so they get to host against the bracket of the #4 team.

At least that's what I think it is. It makes sense from what happened, but I don't know the exact rule.

I took a look at the brackets, and that reasoning would have been correct in every game thus far except for the Eastern Washington vs. App game. Eastern Washington beat the #2 seed, and then had to go on the road to App.

I think the bid process continues all the way up to the championship game. It's all money.

I wasn't even going to watch. I was at a high school basketball game and saw an App alum who told me it was 14-0. I figured App would just roll so until I checked this thread, I had no intentions of watching. I thought about going up there tonight but didn't have the money for the drive.

Someone needs to get Dr. Kerr a copy of this game so he can see what a real FCS band is supposed to sound like and what they're supposed to do in the stands.
