we know you are a big 12 homer or a rice, univ of houston, houston sisters of the poor fan. times are changing in baseball and you know it. im not saying the ACC is the best, but they have made big strides and are now talked about nationally. even the biggest ACC hater can admit that.

The lost definitely kills our chances with this new format....I believe we had a horrible tourney and made it to the championship game...I believe we will be just fine...But yeah it's all about the ACC on this board learn to like it !!!!

Addison Johnson and Dusty Ackley played on the same high school team last year (along with Wes Hobson who just won SoCon player of the week).

FSU crushed wake 11-2 in the last game of day one. day two starts at 4pm with UVA playing Georgia Tech and UNC playing NC State at 7pm. with this new format of pool play, if UVA wins and UNC loses, the hoos would automatically be in the championship. i know a lot of ifs, but just pointing out the new format.

UVA beats georgia tech and UNC crushes the wolfpack to set up a saturday afternoon battle with the hoos and heels, with the winner gaining a berth in the championship game on sunday. should be a good game.

Wait a minute. UNC lost to GT...
...if GT beats NCSU, and UNC beats UVA...it will be a 3-way tie at 2-1 in the pool, with the 3 teams beating each other.

georgia tech would be eliminated in a two or three team tie in pool play according to the news outlets i have read and this is the procedure from TheACC.com

The team with the best tournament record in each of the two brackets will compete for the Championship. If more than one team is tied at the completion of round-robin play in the brackets, the following tie-breaking procedure will be used:

(1) Two Teams Tied:

(a) The team that won the head-to-head competition in Championship games will advance.

(2) Three Teams Tied:

(a) The team with the best overall conference winning percentage in regular season play will advance.

(b) The team with the best head-to-head conference winning percentage among the tied teams in regular season play, provided that all teams were common opponents during the regular season, will advance.

(c) The team with the highest seed in the respective bracket will advance.

NOTE: If multiple teams tie and the tie can be reduced to two teams, the provisions for the two team ties will be used from that point forward.

so with all of that being said, it UVA wins they are in the championship. if it is a three way tie at 2-1 UNC plays for the championship.

Is it just me but man these night games are being played really late....I was watching the Heels last night and there was no and I mean nobody there in the 5th inning....Dan Boner was joking that the night before they had to get someone from the conference to do take me out to the ballgame!!!! Hoos and Heels should be a good one....I will take the high road and just wish both teams good luck...
