No one is shedding any tears in Houston after the Asik deal. The Rockets are actually younger than the Pelicans, believe it or not. Moving Omer helped clear cap space for one of the big fish on the market. Allegedly a deal to trade Linsanity has also been agreed upon contingent upon a major signing in Houston.

LeBron to Houston still is unlikely. But I wouldn't put anything off the table if he really wants to win championships.

There was the whole thing last night of LeBron saying Nappier was his favorite player in the draft. That could be LeBron complementing a player he really likes or that could be something that could keep him in Miami. I think he's good enough to at least be ahead of Chalmers in the rotation if he can't start right away.

jinxy wrote:Bron bron better get his. Anthony davis will be the best player in the league within 2 years barring injury. He has a true center and decent talent around him now.
Really? There are so many things wrong with that statement:

1) LeBron will still be the best player in the NBA in two years
2) As previously stated, Kevin Durant will still be in his prime in two years
3) Anthony Davis is not a center, much less a "true" center
4) Anthony Davis played 58% of his minutes at PF this year
5) New Orleans just traded for their starting center in Omer Asik so Davis can play his natural PF position
6) In two years, Davis will not be the best player in the NBA because LeBron and Durant will still be playing at or very near the top of their game

I agree Davis won't be the best player, but jinxy wasn't calling him a C. He was saying that he finally has a true center playing with him so he can stay at his natural position at PF.

L.O.L.

davis was very duncanish last year. but even duncan wasn't the "best" player in the nba his entire career even though he did have a few mvp's i believe. mj/shaq/kobe/lebron is a tough timeline to try and be the best player in any given year. all arguable. but nevertheless, having a duncanish season your 2nd year in the league is good news for davis.

Laugh all you want. Ive heard countless folks say this week if you were starting your team today they would pick davis first including bill simmons tom penn and broussard. Davis to duncan is not a good comparison. Duncans never had near the athleticism that davis possesses. Look at davis"s numbers the last 2 months of the season and you will be shocked. Hes still learning and growing into his body. Durant is not going to be much better than he already is. Davis is already a much better defensive presence. If your not a pelican fan you wouldnt have seen how incredible his growth was. It wouldnt surprise me if he bumped up to 25 12 and 3.5 a game in just his 3rd year coming up. Also duncan stayed 4 years in school so his 2nd year in the league would davis 5th. So hes already doing duncan like things 3 years earlier with more athleticism and more room for growth. I have a friend that works for the pelicans and he says AD is pounding the weight room and gaining range to 3pt line. How would he not be in that conversation if he strengthens those 2 areas?

I wouldn't entirely disagree with picking Davis as the #1 pick if you did an entire draft of the league. He's going to be a future MVP if he ever ends up on a good enough team. A whole lot of people would pick LeBron or Durant (and perhaps others) before Davis though. Those guys still have a whole lot of years left in them, especially Durant, and they are better players right now.

And I disagree Durant isn't going to get any better. OKC is holding him back a bit. None of the coaches are getting him to develop a post game is the biggest thing holding him back. Westbrook doesn't pass. The supporting talent is quite lacking there after Ibaka and Reggie Jackson.

But just because some people may draft him #1 doesn't mean in two years he is going to be the best player in the league though. Right now he isn't even the best player at his position.

The best center in the league could be picked top 10 because of lack of talent at the position, being picked ahead of clearly better players at positions with a lot more depth in talent, but that doesn't mean the best center in the league is a top-10 player though. Because of that, I could easily see someone like Joakim Noah being drafted ahead of guys like Love, Westbrook, Curry, Griffin, Harden, etc.

And look at Davis' body frame. He can put on more muscle, but he is always going to have a rather slender frame no matter how many hours he puts in the gym or how many steroids he injects. Some guys just aren't made to put on much muscle, he's one of them.

Dwade is a 6th man at best. Nothing would make me happier than to see him left alone in Miami, trying to be the lead guy.

I think Bosh leaves for Houston; LeBron stays with Wade and Carmelo goes to Miami. But who really knows? They don't even know what they're doing.

Yeah, when I saw the title, I thought it was about the other LBJ, who, in his own way, was an egotistical jerk as well......

Looks like he's made a decision...

MIAMI—After viewing its latest pitch highlighting all he could accomplish with its organization, NBA power forward LeBron James confirmed Tuesday that he is currently leaning toward joining the militant Islamic group Al-Qaeda. “I’ve been doing my due diligence, and right now I’m really interested in [Al-Qaeda leader] Ayman al-Zawahiri’s vision and what he has already built over there,” said James, adding that while he has also considered offers from terrorist organizations such as Boko Haram and the Taliban, he believes heading to Al-Qaeda remains his best opportunity to defeat the West in the immediate future. “It seems like they’re open to doing a max deal, but I’d be willing to take a pay cut if that’s what it’ll take for them to bring in a big-time cell leader to work alongside me. Of course, I also can’t ignore their storied history and the fact that they have such a loyal following. I’m certain they have the personnel to take out both L.A. and San Antonio. Overall, I think moving to the Arabian Peninsula is the best option for me right now, and it will help take me to the next level.” At press time, James confirmed that his agent Rich Paul, who has been overseas negotiating with the group, has not been heard from in six days.

It's official he's going back home. I don't know about you but this potential line-up terrifies me:
PG: Kyrie Irving
SG: Dion Waiters
SF: LeBron James
PF: Andrew Wiggins
C: Anderson Varejao, well maybe not him but the first four are scary.

I like this team too and might be Kevin Love instead of Waiters. I love Varajao because if he can find his old-self from 2 years ago where he was beast underneath - he could pull down 10 RBs a game. He's not a bad player, just was hurt a lot last year.

I find your lack of faith disturbing. :flamingdevil

I would also not be surprised to see them swing a Love- Wiggins deal

Word is Minnesota is going to insist on Wiggins as a part of any deal that would send Love to the Cavs.
