As much as I personally hate the Penguins and any team that has the slightest connection to Pittsburgh. I can't say I'm surprised that the Yankees and Cowboys are the top 2.

From what I see from around Twitter and locally, Duke seems to be more hated than Kentucky given the ESPN lovefest they get. Maybe that's just because there are a lot of UNC fans around here.

I think my Duke hate is relatively obvious since Maryland probably has the most passionate Duke haters outside of North Carolina. But I hate the Yankees, Patriots and Manchester United too.

I wanted as many sports as possible represented and they are EASILY the most hated team in the NHL. That's why I put Man U in too, I hate them and anyone who follows the BPL and isn't a Man U fan hates them too.

because hockey dopes go batshoot insane when you do and its quite entertaining. i used to play and used to follow it quite a bit. when the fast and technical selanne's of the game started taking over the slow enforcing rob rays of the game i stopped watching.

I despise Hockey, closely followed by the NBA.

I hate the New York Yankees with a passion. As far as I am concerned they are a disgrace to baseball. I know they have a great history, but today's version is nothing but a bunch of players who went to NY because they offered a couple million dollars more. Players like McGann and Elsbury and Texidera or ehatever his name is. These clowns go there as free agents, as if they were on Welfare and Food Stamps with their former club.

How can anybody despise hockey? That makes zero sense to me. I can understand it not being your thing, but despise?? Seems a bit harsh, haha

As for the NBA, I have talked many times on here about my opinion on that and basketball fans who hate it so I don't think I need to rehash that debate.

The people who say they hate hockey have never seen it in person. I've been to two Flyers games and one LU game and that is the most exciting sport on the planet to see in person and probably the only one of the four majors that's better to see in person than at home.

my first thought was the pats. i don't hate them the most but i feel like everyone i know does.

also, hockey is awesome. i think flyers fans (like me!) sometimes hate the pens so much we just assume everyone else does too. when I was raised somewhere that does care about hockey (the delaware valley), it pretty weird moving somewhere people don't care (Western NC). its a sad reminder of the sports regional-ness

I know several Caps fans that agree with me on the extreme Pens hate, and the regional-ness of hockey is really sad to me. It's definitely going to be hard leaving the hockey loving Baltimore-Philly 95 corridor for football centric Lynchburg and all the southerners that don't know anything about how great the game of hockey really is. But if all they know is the crappy teams like the Panthers that may as well play 82 road games a year because they have no fans I could understand why they don't like it.
