Mrs Purple and I were in tears watching their PG. he actually threw LEAD passes to the open spots so his team could run to it. He worked around double teams. He kept spacing. he was unselfish. we were trying to determine if it was her lost love child or mine. :D
And that one white dude can freakin get UP,#20 I think.

Georgetown is won of 14 schools since 1986 with five losses to a team seeded 10 or worse. Five of those 14 schools are current Big East members: Louisville, Georgetown, Marquette, Notre Dame, and Syracuse. Pretty pathetic stat for five of the Big East "heavyweights", although when you look at their tournament history since 1986 it really isn't the least bit surprising.

Wow, just read this stat on ESPN.com: The Hoyas are the first team to be eliminated in four straight NCAA Tournaments by a team selected at least five spots lower. That's a stat that can get a coach fired in a heartbeat.

And I am 100% positive I heard during a highlight segment of the game (couldn't watch the game because of work) that Gtown couldn't handle the FGCU athleticism. I looked at FGCU's roster. Seven of their 14 players are white guys! You kidding me Georgetown??

Georgetown with one trip past the Sweet 16 and every year that passes it's more and more obvious that 2007 was a fluke year for Georgetown basketball. Time to add JTIII to the list of coaches who get less done with more. He joins the likes of Rick Barnes, Scott Drew, and Josh Pastner.

Wisky and G'town out officially destroys both my brackets as I had both in the Final Four. Love how many lower seeds have won thus far.
It seems like there are a lot more 'upsets' this year then in the past. I'm sure someone somewhere has that stat.
Upsets are what makes the early rounds so awesome but the Final Four will again be dominated by the heavyweights. Just not Wisconsin dang it :D

Last year the sum of the seeds remaining after the first round was 210 if I remember correctly, which was the highest ever, this year the sum is two points less. Stats courtesy of a SportsCenter segment that I happened to see because my remote control was broken an I couldn't change the channel.

The early ones at least had alternatives like college lacrosse, softball and baseball games, in addition to a road to the Kentucky Derby preview show on NBCSN. It would have been much worse if the late games had been bad.

I'd like to see a 3-5 minute highlight/review piece on the two Marquette-Butler games this year. Two fantastic games with great finishes.

If those are alternatives it shows how bad they were! Even the women's games were bad.

You are spot on about Marquette and Butler. AND now they will be conference foes! I think Clark just got tired. Buzz's continuous substitutions wore down Butler IMO

Considering no #15 seed has ever made it to the Sweet 16 I'd say we are in historic mode.
I think the biggest thing is watching them play it doesn't feel like an upset. They've got some legit athletes and size. This isn't the typical spunky underdog chucking 3s. I have no idea how they lost 5 games in the Atlantic Sun including getting swept by 12-18 Lipscomb.

That's 2 straight games with a highlight reel alley oop. I'm guessing a solid 4-5 days of hype is going to draw a huge rating on CBS next Friday.
