Admit it, BJ now has you intrigued.

Lochte is already living up top the hype and Phelps is looking like an old man already.

1) You only say that because you cant even ride a horse shuk
2) By the horse Cider
3) Its alright Purple, I never was about comparing who is the bigger sports geek
4) Sly, Equestrian is pretty interesting. My sisters experimented with it when we were younger before my sister's medical bills got too high to be able to keep up with it...also, I dont think Phelps is out of it by any stretch. he still has 6 more events on the program and one more head to head with Lochte so I think he is gonna get things going in his favor pretty quickly

Today so far i have watched:
-USA win Semi's in archery over South Korea(With SK's legally blind archer)
-USA lose to North Korea in table tennis
-USA women beat Columbia in soccer
-USA Beat South Korea in women's volleyball
-USA lose to Italy in Archery.
-1st round loss of USA to South Korea in Badminton(cool sport at that level btw)
-USA men win Sand volleyball over South Africa
-The dressage portion of equestrian before i fell asleep

All in all a good day. However I find it strange that the USA has been paired with South Korea in many of the team sports.

I'm rooting against China as much as I am for the US. They're basically the new Soviets.

Why all the China hate- heck, if it weren't for them, most of you wouldn't be able to afford the computers you read this stuff on. With the population they have and the money they pump into their programs, they should be a dominant force.

Because we need a "Villan". Obviously, you never took a Sport History Class!! HA

The Post WW II Olympics were great because it was EXACTLY what the Olympics were intended for. Opposite powers doing battle on the field of Sport as opposed to the field of battle. Why does 1972, the most pivitol games of the Modern Era, bring up bad memories for hoops fans? 1980 great memories for US fans? We are "Good". We embody freedom, the ability to pursue greatness how you want. Team China, as team USSR and its satelites, embodied rigidity. Authoritarian control of your life and your training. Their athletes eat and are cared for by their government better then the rest of the population while the galant US athletes must struggle through work and locating sponsorships!!
Or something to that effect. :D

^What he said, plus the Chinese are juiced to the gills. Did you see the story about the 16-year-old girl from China who won the 400 IM by closing her last 50m faster than Ryan Lochte did? Note to drug users: if you come out of nowhere and do something unbelievable, we will all know that you are a cheater (Usain Bolt, I'm looking in your direction, too).

Yeah, I went to the Seoul '88 Olympics. What an amazing olympics it was! Got to see Carl Lewis, Flo Jo, US lose to the russians in bball (aweful!), Greg Louganis, and the first olympics after the boycotts. For the size of the country (50 million) South Korea is amazingly competitive in many sports. Korea won the first gold of these games, 10m pistol baby!

Not to mention our official Olympic team uniforms.

Personally I love that China is right with us in the medal count. It would be a bore to win everything, all the time.

You must not compete in sports... it's never a bore to dominate - that's what you strive/train for.

Who is non-partisan in the Olympics? Doesn't everybody have a chearing interest?

Well everybody less the 3 countryless Olympians.

Turn around cause you are preaching to the choir. I was offering one explanation. Plus, in the Olympics there will always be a competitive match up somewhere. I mean everyone knew China would win Gold but what about the Ukrainian, GB and Japan drama last nite? Riveting. I was rooting for GB in the Silver and Ukraine for Bronze. NO WAY that guy completed a hand stand!

Additionally, I love how watching a sport for 10 minutes in the Olympics makes me an expert in form, technique and judging! Study :D

Anyone else irritated with NBC? Do people still have cable? It's 2012 and I can't watch the games streaming without some $120+ a month subscription with the lovely Comcast. I'm sure it would be a surprise to learn the Comcast owns 49% of NBC
