I don't doubt that Matt has good receivers but you can't tell me that his receivers are great because of themselves. In USC's style of play, the quarterback makes the receivers. Julio Jones, Sidney Rice, Chad Ochocinco, Alshon Jeffery, Santana Moss and several others would fall into the category of receivers who made themselves. I've watched Matt Barkely play and besides Luck, he's more ready for the NFL than any other QB.

RGIII will be a complete bust in the NFL. He passes 1/3 of the time (I checked those stats). His numbers are against B12 defenses which are terrible.

I've watched plenty of film on both guys. Don't be fooled by how they did or are doing in college, the stats or success alone doesn't mean much. Pay attention the way they throw the ball and read the field. This is why Purdue has the most QB's in the NFL.

RGIII= Warren Moon
RGIII= Randall Cunningham?

Steve Young and John Elways were considered mobile/scrambling QBs. They did pretty ok. Although as they got older they scrambled less.

And don't go hatin on the Boilers. They have a history of QBs in the league!

Are we talking about passing against Pac 12 defenses like it is a monumental step above the Big XII? I like RG 3 as a pro quarterback a great deal. Frankly I expect big things from both of the big Texan QBs who will go up top of the draft.

Interesting results tonight.

RGIII gets the O'Brien award for top QB.

Robert Woods, of that nobody WR corps at USC, finishes final 3 in the Biletnikoff award for top WR.

I think I'll just ignore the latent racism where every black QB is automatically a run first QB and move on.

Dude, be glad that I'm a Liberty student right now. I listed Tim Tebow as one of the guys. He's freaking white. You're more of a racist biggot than you make me out to be if you're honestly going to accuse me of that.

Like I said, quarterbacks make their receivers. You're [[ EDIT: Avoid personal attacks - Sly ]].

Holy crap that was the stupidest argument I've ever heard...

That sounds even dumber than some of the things I say!

cjsweat he wasn't talking about you btw.

While i thank God everyday that you arent a Jerry, have you ever bothered to think the reason why most black QB's are scramble style are because they're much more athletic than pasty white pocket passers?

But that's okay. By claiming racism you feel so much better about your white guilt now don't you?

Yes it is because they don't use Roman Numerals in the PAC 12! Now if it was The Big XXX.....

My vote goes to the next John Elway aka Andrew Luck. Who would have guessed staying in college makes your draft stock go down?

He's the consensus #1 overall pick. How is that draft stock going down?

Robert Griffin III wins the 2011 Heisman Trophy, Andrew Luck finishes second (again).

I voted for RGIII because he won.
And his socks were cool.

I was driving back to my dorm last night and I really boiled down RGIII to three moments:

1) The TCU game put him on the radar
2) The Oklahoma game made him a legitimate frontrunner
3) The Texas game made him the Heisman Trophy winner

Now I know they look at the whole body of work when voting for the Heisman but I think those three games really set him apart

The Oklahoma game was the clincher. That throw he made with the OK defender barreling down on him was stuff they will show on Baylor reels for years.

Having the Texas game while the others were off for the week helped him as well. Apparently 20% of the ballots were in by that point, but I'm willing to bet that those who waited voted for him at a much higher rate than the 20% that submitted early.
