This is stupid. He stopped the press in the first quarter.
"Grimes said in his Sunday post that his team stopped applying full-court defensive pressure after the score reached 25-0 three minutes into the game, then dropped into a relatively benign zone defense and began resting its starters in favor of its three bench players."
He only has 8 players........EIGHT. What is he to do.....take the starting five out & play with only 3? Which would be more humiliating, losing to a team 100-0, or losing to THREE girls 80-10?
"Grimes also included the quarter-by-quarter scoring on his post: 35, 24, 29, 12."
And, are they saying that if the final score was 75-0 it would somehow honor Christ more?
"We want to represent Christ with the highest respect, we don't want to humiliate anyone ever and we want our students to be enthusiastic in everything they do."
Yes, yes.......give it your best................unless you're way better than someone else................then just half-(butt) it. That's the Christian way.

From the sound of things they probably could have won by 200 if they wanted to. IMHO the only issue is whether there was a decision made to make another "push" when they saw the chance to get to 100. There was no need for that, especially after the decision had been made earlier to stop pressing or shooting 3s. Let's face it, the final score was not an accident.

I think most of us would agree that the biggest error here was scheduling the game in the first place, but the 2 schools/coaches apparently had no idea just how big a discrepency in talent/skill level there was.

If they were complaining that the team who won by 100 was shooting threes they obviously haven't thought it through. The 3 point shot is the lowest percentage shot in basketball! It sounds like they were doing them a favor by not passing it in every time for a 80-90% shot in the post...

Again if he wanted to win by 50 points he could have held the ball and played a four corner offense and not score, etc
