Over 90 million dollars from one individual doesnt hurt...
You do realize LU was not considered to be in "debt" when Doc died, therefore the majority of that money could be applied to our endowment
Also, you are correct again...it is nice to have someone with the foresight to not be selfish and leave millions to family but rather a school....I'm sure your president has done the same thing....that will make one heck of a Justice Center 2.0...but I'm sure those Golf Tournaments will raise enough money before he passes
HMO- I listen better when you are correct - first we have a "Chancellor"- secondly "he" is actually a "she" named Ann Ponder who not is a founder of the university as it is a public institution- those types of individuals don't have the same responsibilities as you can imagine to their "job".. Double check your "facts"- direct source (last paragraph)
http://www.time.com/time/nation/article ... 98,00.html or
http://www.abpnews.com/index.php?option ... Itemid=120 - find me something to substantiate your belief regarding the non "debt" you describe.. I'll wait as I couldn't find anything contrary..
I didn't post here to have a pissing contest regarding our respective schools, being that I went to a liberal arts school- I'm appreciative & tolerant of your fans (mostly).. I enjoy discussing various items on your message boards & we're all strongly opinionated, which is the point on here-
So let me clear things up some so we're on the same page, when I pointed out that TBGBG wasn't utilizing his Baptist University education by comparing an ankle sprain to a life-threatening condition you'll forgive me if I don't find that comparable, they're not even in the same ballpark quite frankly, pick on another one of our athletes that has been "hurt" but is still capable of continuing their career at some point- that's equivalent so you know.. In my commentary I didn't say anything disparaging about LU's school/campus, educational beliefs, student values or the quality of education- only how they are NOT being applied by TBGBG so why's everyone else here flustered??
I concede that I opened the door to the KG conversation by speaking of TB's lack of play/injury- but at least TB is
capable of playing still.. I'm pretty sure that LU's Mission doesn't include the degrading of other individuals (see
http://www.liberty.edu/index.cfm?PID=6899) After reading that Mission Statement & Purpose of Education page I especially question TBGBG's Baptist/LU beliefs given his obvious disregard of other individuals that he doesn't know, hasn't met, etc.. by posting other physically challenged individuals with prosthetics since the conversation started- it makes me question his Baptist beliefs, so take up for him if you want.. that shows your character as well. Obviously I'm not much better by indulging further- but I didn't attend LU..
The monetary issues come back to your constant belittling of our "HS gym" (we all know it's bad as thoroughly commented about, but hey HP only had 692 people at the CSU game Monday- way to utilize the better facility) at the expense of building anything LU wants & getting into significant debt (lots of businesses & schools do that- UNCA cannot do that as a public school and we have to operate in the black or pay it back within 24 months- which is close to impossible for major projects)
For the record- I'd love to run into TBGBG someday for a chat..
