If you want to talk ASUN smack or ramble ad nauseum about your favorite pro or major college teams, this is the place to let it rip.

It's cool.. I understand I opened the door there- I acknowledged as much in the same post.. I've never come on here "hating" another school though but whatever, I'm working on individuals now, not the representative body..

As for the hygiene comments- MRSA isn't gangrene since I'm uneducated I wouldn't know that though..

Since you want to obviously go there though- I understand that life insurance pays all debts at Liberty.. must be nice..

From what I understand, king is a former athlete.

At a state school.

He did not receive an education.

"What shape is a basketball" was the only question he had to actually study for. (It was extra credit on his history final)
Trust me...a UNCA education trumps just about any other in the Big South. King got an OUTSTANDING education there.
I am just having fun... I am avoiding the jokes about life threatening infections and sticking to the typical "dumb jock" jokes.

King is a pretty intelligent guy and he brings good points. I am glad I didn't get caught up in debating with him...

MRSA can happen ANYWHERE. In fact, one of the places it is most prevalent is hospitals.

we can't fall back on taxpayers for everything.
it must suck to come on campus and see all the nice stuff and the huge vines center and all that and know we are debt free though

You sure about that?? Last I checked tax payers (via the Feds) are bailing out banks, insurance & credit companies left & right?? Oh wait- I'm a dumb jock with a state education though.. (Left- it's all good- I like the banter back & forth!)

Having a really nice, big arena doesn't impress me when it's typically a quarter full from last year/this years stats (except when KG was there last year).. Talk about the lottery seating system after you average more than 2500-2800.. Keep winning this year & then I'll be impressed- I am so far since the UNCA game if that matters...

what would be really impressive is if he got a metal foot and then beasted. then it'd be poor BIG TINK TINK. but he won't, so we ain't gotta worry bout losing a foot race to the guy with no foot

Thank you Dr. Doolittle
You're quite welcome. Glad I could drop by and engage in meaningful conversation with the animals.

Over 90 million dollars from one individual doesnt hurt...

You do realize LU was not considered to be in "debt" when Doc died, therefore the majority of that money could be applied to our endowment

Also, you are correct again...it is nice to have someone with the foresight to not be selfish and leave millions to family but rather a school....I'm sure your president has done the same thing....that will make one heck of a Justice Center 2.0...but I'm sure those Golf Tournaments will raise enough money before he passes

FWIW...the Justice Center was not even named for someone who ever gave money to UNCA. And I doubt very seriously that any of the previous chancellors have given much back to the university after they served their purposes. Just like Liberty, the school now known at UNCA is not that old of a university...thus contributions from rich/dying alumni are rather sparse/non-existent. The elitism the university promotes does very little to endear itself to the Asheville community, either.

HMO- I listen better when you are correct - first we have a "Chancellor"- secondly "he" is actually a "she" named Ann Ponder who not is a founder of the university as it is a public institution- those types of individuals don't have the same responsibilities as you can imagine to their "job".. Double check your "facts"- direct source (last paragraph) http://www.time.com/time/nation/article ... 98,00.html or http://www.abpnews.com/index.php?option ... Itemid=120 - find me something to substantiate your belief regarding the non "debt" you describe.. I'll wait as I couldn't find anything contrary..

I didn't post here to have a pissing contest regarding our respective schools, being that I went to a liberal arts school- I'm appreciative & tolerant of your fans (mostly).. I enjoy discussing various items on your message boards & we're all strongly opinionated, which is the point on here-

So let me clear things up some so we're on the same page, when I pointed out that TBGBG wasn't utilizing his Baptist University education by comparing an ankle sprain to a life-threatening condition you'll forgive me if I don't find that comparable, they're not even in the same ballpark quite frankly, pick on another one of our athletes that has been "hurt" but is still capable of continuing their career at some point- that's equivalent so you know.. In my commentary I didn't say anything disparaging about LU's school/campus, educational beliefs, student values or the quality of education- only how they are NOT being applied by TBGBG so why's everyone else here flustered??

I concede that I opened the door to the KG conversation by speaking of TB's lack of play/injury- but at least TB is capable of playing still.. I'm pretty sure that LU's Mission doesn't include the degrading of other individuals (see http://www.liberty.edu/index.cfm?PID=6899) After reading that Mission Statement & Purpose of Education page I especially question TBGBG's Baptist/LU beliefs given his obvious disregard of other individuals that he doesn't know, hasn't met, etc.. by posting other physically challenged individuals with prosthetics since the conversation started- it makes me question his Baptist beliefs, so take up for him if you want.. that shows your character as well. Obviously I'm not much better by indulging further- but I didn't attend LU..

The monetary issues come back to your constant belittling of our "HS gym" (we all know it's bad as thoroughly commented about, but hey HP only had 692 people at the CSU game Monday- way to utilize the better facility) at the expense of building anything LU wants & getting into significant debt (lots of businesses & schools do that- UNCA cannot do that as a public school and we have to operate in the black or pay it back within 24 months- which is close to impossible for major projects)

For the record- I'd love to run into TBGBG someday for a chat..

The biggest problem I am noticing is that your looking on the internet for facts (which is a oxymoron within itself) while you have people here who were part of the process during that time and now...dont under estimate the people on here...they arent all just sports junkies with nothing going on

I promise I've seen more film & him play than you ever thought of with KG.. Quit hating on his size, I understand you're mad it's not fair he's so tall.. How about watching that same film that constantly shows guys at 45-60 degree angles & both hands trying to push him from the block or 2-3 guys pushing him on out of bounds plays- (even when he's clearly established his position at the basket during timeouts!!)- they can't legally stop him from dunking on them- it's not supposed to be fair- he's 7'8"!!!

In his career blocks its rare when the ball even had the chance of reaching it's peak & traveling downward.. it's like when I played against Aluma there- you can't hate a great shot blocker just cause you can't get by them..

But I understand your frustration- there's so little film of TB for you to analyze it's hard to occupy all your other free time.. keep hating what you envy it's cool..

I will verify the fact that HMO is in the know:) This thread is out of control - I love it - I wasn't even involved this time.

King - Can George get a medical redshirt or is he truly done? There's nothing they can do for him?

I dont remember UNCA ever releasing anything about KG...I remember hearing on ESPN that his foot was amputated but they were waiting for UNCA to confirm

If that's the case I dont know how he could ever return...but who knows....King could fill us in better I'm sure

For the record I like King...he's fun to bash with and no hard feelings after...I wish more were like that on here! Not to mention I've heard him say he was wrong a few times already...thats a few times more then most on FF!
