Boise State might be reconsidering move to Big East

Boise State is scheduled to join the Big East Conference on July 1, 2013, but there are indications the Broncos are considering remaining in the Mountain West.

An industry source told CBSSports.com that Mountain West representatives met with Boise State officials earlier this week to persuade the Broncos to remain in the MWC. Adding to that possibility is that the Broncos still haven't formally notified the Mountain West they are withdrawing from the league.

CBSSports.com asked Boise State for a comment about the MWC meeting and why the school had not formally withdrawn from the Mountain West. "We are actively monitoring the changing landscape in college athletics and remain committed to making the best long-term decisions for Boise State," a spokesman said.

Mason & VCU are waiting to pull the trigger to see if the Big East split occurs. If it does, both would be prime targets along with current A-10 schools.

I firmly believe ODU is gone to CUSA. VCU could pull the trigger to A10 if they have deal that allows them to slide into Big East split without signifcant penalty.

Big East split could also impact UMass.

If the JMU/travel partner rumors have ny validity, it could be a battle between us & Delaware to join the Dukes. Frankly I wonder how likely it is that the MAC is serious about expansion.

As for the ESPN story, it just shows they are reading the.same boards as the rest of us. Nothing revelatory to see there.

I don't think the MAC is in play at all, nor has it been.

You could be right. The saddest part about that is that we're able to compete athletically and financially in the MAC, C-USA, and the Sun Belt right now. According to Bill Carr from Carr Sports Consulting, "Liberty has made giant strides in every phase of their athletics program and especially in football. They are the best prepared for FBS advancement of all universities for whom we have conducted similar studies over the past 21 years."

Here is what I heard. Apparently there is going to be an announcement about a delay in the announcement about the big upcoming announcement about the really big announcement coming up during the ultimate announcement. When the announcement about the delay in the announcement is scheduled we Wil be having an announcement about making that announcement which, it should be noted is different from the original announcement.
So yeah, I'm thinking SEC or ACC but some Midwest powers are hoping for The B1G!

I was being sarcastic, logic said both of those conferences were too small for us. Ive mentioned where i thought moving up would be a good idea but since you mentioned it....

Have either of them offered us an invitation? Has our name been mentioned by anyone outside this board, as a school in serious contention? Obviously we are all dressed up but we, at present, have no place to go. I mean just because I want to go to the prom doesn't mean someone is going to ask me.
