Reject. Vance Worley alone is worth keeping.

NAJ, I meant "washed up" as with the durability issues. But alas we have two different definitions lol.

Don't give up Kershaw. Ever.

I'd still reject.

But this coming from someone who has never accepted a trade ever, lol.

lol...I still have a top flight starter in Lee, a potential HoF in Pettite and Id be getting a good young pitcher in Kennedy so Id have three aces in my starting staff, and Id be getting a second closer in Balfour to help the Save numbers along with Valverde, and getting a top SS as well. Im taking it

Pettite is an AL East pitcher though. I try to always shy away from that. I won't publically acknowledge my strategy but I do have one when it comes to pitching, but that one I'll help everyone out on that. (only reason is because we're all playing against each other!)

There are exceptions to that rule, but not often. Hellickson for example, pitches better against AL East teams than any other division. And did so again today.

I'll have Lee, Pettite, Peacock, Worley, Pelfrey, Chacin and Kennedy once the trade goes through for my starters and Valverde, Downs, Soriano (Rafael) and Balfour as my relievers

Why were there 16 acquisitions available during the first matchup? We've already got someone who has made 14 moves during one week of play. That basically makes the draft worthless and is exactly what I was talking about.

Calm down. ESPN did it. It goes back to regular next week.

Besides, I don't have a problem with it anyway.

Mine too but I've done well despite the circumstances.

Honestly right now my team is on fire, I had 54 strikeouts last night with 5 pitchers. Only Hudson gave up 3 runs, the rest didn't. Of course I had Matt Cain too :D

Your strategy of going all SPs is smart. I have basically gone that route as well. It works. What is amazing is your team ERA and WHIP this week, given so many starters. Nice.

shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh :nono

You ruined my strategy! lol I actually drafted all SP's because I thought we were operating under last year's statistics category. Quality Starts were included, so it would be beneficial in QS, W, and K categories, sacrificing saves for a 3-1 record.

Also, because there are more innings pitched, if one of your pitchers get bombed for say 10 runs, it won't hurt you quite as much.

I mean, i'd might as well say why now that my secret strategy has been exposed. :D

But for the record, it's never bad to pick up a relief pitcher too if a good SP is not available. Mainly going after set-up pitchers.

No worries. Nobody else is going to be able to load up on extra SPs because in a 12-team league there aren't many left worth having. Actually, I've been doing the same thing in a couple of leagues for the last few years. One I do (an eight-team league) requires three RPs on the roster, a rule I like. And we have a starts-per-week limit which keeps everybody honest.

I just wish we had a couple more DL slots on this roster. I'm gonna have to drop somebody.

I'll include extra DL spots next year. What number would you suggest? I'd probably do 3. I never would have dropped Alex Avila even though he's had a down year, but I have so many injuries that I can't afford to keep him.

3 sounds good. I haven't had to drop anyone, but it would be nice to have Evan Longoria not taking up a bench spot. It does seem like there are more injuries to good players this year than normal.

It's sort of like injuries are a yearly fad as well. A few years ago, it was the quads. Last year, it was the oblique. This year its the hamstring. Just seems interesting to me.

that is a relief. Need atleast 2 DL spots, that has killed my team the last few weeks...ellsbury, howard, morse, austin jackson, neftali feliz haha. I had nobody on the bench. I have tried the all starting pitchers as well but it's tough when you have more than a 10 team league. Another thing that's hurting me is the youkilis middlebrooks situation. I can't wait for the sox to trade youk so i get consistent AB"s from both.

If I might also add, and I'm sure you already know but it's always good to go after the set-up guys, mainly because it's their inning. You don't have to worry about them getting pulled and then being charged the runs if the next pitcher gives up an HR. Perfect example is the Rays Joel Peralta. He had an ERA of 5.50 at one point this season. His OPPS AVG? .195. It was because the pitcher who came in after him always surrendered Peralta's inherited runners. Now Peralta is back to being the set-up man, thus it's more safe to use him if you had him.

If you will receive A-Rod and Hughes, I'd take it. But first, who is your other catcher?

Chris Iannetta but he is on the DL right now

I have another deal where I send Longoria (on DL) and receive Youkilis and Carlos Ruiz (My other 3B are Wilson Betemit and Orlando Hudson who also is my starting 2B)

Yeah I'd accept the latter deal. You need a backup catcher. Plus as good as Longoria is, he has no support.
