Neither of us know for sure, we can only go on what fans say on other message boards, but its My H.O. that when the Presidents get together and discuss adding schools to an athletic conference, they will talk very little about "Tella Tubbies, 911, Christianity, Falwells, Republican". I am not saying its a non factor, I just have a different opinion about how those meetings go.

Politics and ideology are very important. Go to any state university and make an argument like, "Affirmative Action is bad for minorities" and see what happens. And you can fill in my quote with any conservative/libertarian ideal.

Not only do many universities have Marxian speech codes, but you'll be called a racist, sexist, biggoted, homophobe, as Rush would call it. Ask any professor at LU and they'll tell you this goes on at other universities.

I understand that it's not the only thing that keeps us out, I agree with you there. I just think it plays a bigger role than you might think.

It was just on the internet, so I understand it's only good for a common man's perspective. But I also believe it is very likely to the perception of liberal academia. The guy writes, "Liberty does not embrace diversity." I've seen others write the same too. What the heck are they talking about it? If they had ever spent one hour on campus, they know better, but they're not about to because of the fear that it may bust their ideological shell they're living under. But it's another one of those false perceptions... that we're all a bunch of White Anglo-Saxon Protestants when it couldn't possibly be further from the truth.

The truth is, they don't care if we are really nice people who care about minorities. The only thing they truly care about is if we embrace liberalism, and move Christianity and conservatism to the side.

Tried it on that exact topic. Got an F, because it is an "anomaly for a minority to succeed in society". But I still ended up with an A in that class because I learned that mimicking the profesor is the key to success.

What professor did you have? Does he live under a rock? I know several successful minorities (black, hispanic, asian). It's typically all about the person and said person's attitude and effort.

Professors like this ignore all things that do not fit in their ideology, or view of the world. For what it's worth, most liberals do live under a rock  Mainly because he is a neo-Marxist. He sees race and sex, and carves up society into little groups that are too 'oppressed,' so thus the government must intervene to ensure equality. The conservatives sees individuals as one race... who may be happen to be black, white, latino, etc.

The professor, as a Marxist, must therefore silence those who prove otherwise because he has blind faith in his ideological system. He accomplishes this by engaging in ad hominum attacks such as racism, bigotry, sexist, homophobia, because he does not know how to answer exceptions to the rule. And quite frankly, most conservatives fold like a cheap camera when they are called these things. The ultimate agenda, is to convince the 'oppressor' that they are a racist, biggot, sexist, homophobe, unless they agree with the Marxian view of history.

The sad part, is that the professor does not care about the culture or subcultures of minorities that cause the lack of success. A perfect example of the fallacy of post hoc erto propter hoc, because a person is a minority, therefore they will not be successful. Well, doesn't that seem compassionate? That's ultimate racism. And that's what we're fighting against, because MANY college presidents agree with Marxian ideology.

Off topic. Take it somewhere else. Any idea when Benson might offer out these invites, if he does? When will the feasibility study be released? Graduation weekend maybe?

No, we've already established that things like this matter. Take some time to think about it, rather than thinking that everyone loves us.

I don't get why we can't have this conversation. We're not going to the Sun Belt on Friday like you think we will.

I think that's a little strong to say mislead Ri...Circumstances change (which is the nature of life, especially in something like conference realignment). I mean we dont exactly know what goes on behind the scenes with something like that, but I dont think that anyone was trying to out and out lie about it

I went to the SBC board thinking we were being torn apart as mentioned above. I'd call it mild. There are more folks right here on this board who "tear LU up" than there are on that board. Lame

I actually looked her up, because you asked. Holly Denning at UW-Whitewater. Some of the quotes on ratemyprofessors.com are pretty funny:
Terrible teacher, she is an extremist and hates men. She also hates white people. The class is easy to get a good grade in if you can put up with her stupidity for an entire semester.
I believe she is friends with Pelosi or maybe even Chairman Mao. If you are interested in learning nothing about other cultures and care only about how evil the white man is you will fit right at home in her extreme liberal America hating class. She is un-American at best. You can post/say anything as long as it follows her far leftist agenda.
She likes to teach you her ideas rather than strictly facts. She likes to teach theories like facts. She jumps from subject to subject without tying them together. If you must take her DO NOT take her night class. Will want to shoot yourself.
She is a feminist...BIG TIME!
Sorry, I had to post it. I'm back on topic.

North Texas, FIU and La Tech to C-USA.

Lot's of movement still to come. There's no need to worry about things right now. We may not get a spot this month, but we'll be there very soon as even the top conferences are nowhere near settled.

You could look at it like that, or you could say now we have a shot at either. Just trying to stay positive.

if nothing changed but our location to South Carolina, we would be in the sunbelt by now, but i don't think i can say the same as far as the MAC goes. (like if we were in PA or something)

From Miami to San Jose, all across the country there will be seven celebratory press conferences Friday to announce a school is moving to another conference in 2013.

Florida International, North Texas, Texas San Antonio, Louisiana Tech and Charlotte are joining Conference USA in 2013, while San Jose State and Utah State are headed to the Mountain West.

While those seven are moving on up, Old Dominion remains undecided whether to upgrade from the Colonial Athletic Association to Conference USA.

So, ODU hasn't said yes yet and Charlotte can't even become an FBS member until 2015. C-USA has obvious interest in this area of the country, but if some things fall our way, whose to say we don't get an invite? Wishful thinking I know but I don't think it's that far fetched.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) - The Charlotte 49ers are heading back to Conference USA.

Two people familiar with the situation say the 49ers are leaving the Atlantic 10 and rejoining Conference USA for the 2013-14 season.

The people spoke on condition of anonymity to The Associated Press because an announcement has not yet been made. The university has scheduled a Friday news conference.

Sun Belt is a serious possibility. The MAC doesn't seem interested, and the C-USA, well, we're just really grasping for straws. We have no chance to be there.

I've always liked the MAC, because we could compete right away in everything.

Kind of wonder what happens to the WAC out of all this? I know all the possibilities but I'm just saying.

I was wondering what the WAC is going to do as well.
