If you want to talk ASUN smack or ramble ad nauseum about your favorite pro or major college teams, this is the place to let it rip.

The question then becomes whom are valued by whom among the remaining ACC assets. I think some might be surprised at who potentially could be left out of contention for both leagues. The number of teams being sized by the P2 are likely contained on a very short list. Then once the Big XII takes the remaining semi-valuable assets it will not be pretty along Tobacco Road.

I suspect the ACC will ultimately survive like the Pac-12 with a half dozen or so left behinds who have their pick of G5s.
Are you hearing anything about the alleged B12-ACC=PAC2 merger that is being mentioned on the TwittersX?

The Twitterverse/XVerse says a lot of things. I take everything on there with a grain of salt.

The sources used in this article aren't exactly stellar. That is kind of the sportskeeda way. Throw crap on the wall and hope it sticks. It's essentially is like if ballcoach ran a sports news site. They're right occasually but most of the time they are just talking nonsense.

He gets eye rolls from credential media types, but was spot on play by play during the PAC12 twists and turns. If you want to wait for news after the fact - he isn’t your guy. If you want good intel on high level discussions taking place and be entertained - He is your man.

He doesn’t claim to be a journalist, just a guy with connections who posts what he hears when he can, and he batted higher than anyone else in 2023. Media was always days and weeks behind him.

He's just sharing what he hears is being discussed. I tend to believe him. Now, will whats being discussed ever come together? He's not saying it will or will not.

Might be Yormark letting big10 and sec know he has options.

As they probably should. Been suckling of the PAC-10 teat for too long. Those are MWC/WCC schools.

Why should theirs be any different than LU?

Just wondering if state funding is an obstacle for UMass at the moment. Big difference in governance between Delaware & Taxachutesettes. Basketball’s in either way.

UConn and Villanova would be interesting though. Tempting as FB only deal? Do the pros out weigh the cons or vice versa?

It appears as though Florida State just lit a match and tossed it into the paper mill…and I’m here for it.

FSU is the alcoholic uncle at the family party that got dissed and is now drunk with no cares left to give. Burn it down!

Both are deep blue states. I will say, that taxes in Massachusetts aren't as bad as people believe. Maryland was way worse, with much lower levels of service. That said, just say no to UMass. They've peaked. I'd rather see EKU, Missouri State, Tarleton, or another FCS call up with much more potential and dedication to achieving said potential.

As for the ACC, just add OSU and WSU to be done with it. Bring in Gonzaga and SMC to balance out travel for Olympic Sports and prepare for the eventual departure of FSU/UNC/UVA and others.

It's a fascinating question for Ian. My guess is that it's a work in progress, and there may be a hurdle or two in the way for UMass.
