Based on these last two games, he's all-tournement, right now.

I just want to say, I believed in Steph and the cats from the start and picked them this far.
He is as pure of a shooter as College hoops has seen in years. All the ACC school fans should be sad that their team overlooked him. Don't think he would have fit into VT's system though!

If the FBI weren't breathing down all our necks, I'd take that bet. Curry scores 30 in a first-round flameout.
Let this be a lesson to you kids. Gambling is bad.
No, it's good. Reason being: I had Davidson in the sweet 16. :D

I would like to point out that winthrop has scrimmaged one of soCons annual bottom feeders for several of the last few years. I know it is just a scrimmage but Wofford has beaten Winthrop the last three years pretty handily in these srimmages.

Uh what?

Winthrop has only scrimmaged them once, which was this year, in which they won all three sessions by double digits.

NOT TRUE.................. i know for a fact that they have scrimmaged wofford all three seasons, this past season wofford won 3 out of the 4 halves that they played.

however that is not what this thread is about. I wish that Liberty could get to the consistent dominance of the big south as winthrop has. That is what our coach said on day one. So props to winthrop for their dominance in the big sout. But the SoCon is a better conference and Davidson is a much better team. IMHO.

Curry will have a tough time shooting over the athletes from georgetown i believe. but i am pulling for them.
Uh, I know for a fact what I posted is true.

The socon isn't a better conference year in and out. The are basically the same. Davidson is a slightly better team this year, but the program is not at the level of Winthrop, year in and out. You can't debate the numbers and facts.
I'm not sure if I'm understanding you. Are you using results from a scrimmage to show that the SoCon is better than the Big South? I can't be reading that right. :?

While I differ with my friend Realist on how good Davidson is, I do agree with him that the SoCon isn't a better conference than the Big South year in and year out. I'm not sure about this past season, but I believe the past few seasons the Big South has done well against the SoCon in games.

im lookin forward to seeing how davidson does against wisc. yes, wisc has great defense, but i want to see how they react to a little guy that can shoot the lights out, distribute the ball, and apparently doesn't get tired.

sure davidson's not supposed to win, but this is march, and it looks to me like cinderella's still dancin!
Wisconsin beat Indiana twice (who has Eric Gordon) and Texas (a team with a phenomenal back court), and Michigan State twice (Drew Netizel anyone?). Eric Gordon has stamina and can shoot it, Texas gaurds have stamina and can fill it up, and everyone should know by now that Drew Neitzel can light up a team. Wisconsin had two guards on the Big 10 defensive team, which had just 6 players and was voted on by the coaches. They did lose to guard heavy Marquette and Duke (when Duke was actually playing really well at the beginning of the season), but they have shown throughout the season that they can take care of business against teams with outstanding guards.

All stats current as of the 22nd, Wisconsin holds opponents to 38% from the field and 30.5% from three. opponents shoot just 13.3 free throws a game on average while Wisconsin averages 20.7 attempts a game and shoot 70.7% from the stripe. They have only had five foul outs while having 22 players foul out against them.

The badgers score 67.6 per game and allow a ridiculously low 53.9 a game. They have three players in double figures and six players averaging 7.5 a game or more.

Wisconsin is 10-2 in road games and 5-0 on netural site games
blah blah blah...

stats sure meant a lot to every higher seed in tampa didn't it? ask Duke for instance? how bout G-town?

the fact is, that NOTHING matters in march other than winning the next game. throw the stats out the window. until the clock strikes 12, Cinderella is STILL dancing. it really doesn't matter WHAT Wisc. has done over the season, b/c the only stats that will matter are the ones AFTER the game. That IS, after all, why they play the game... and let 64/5 teams in. Unless you're a 16 seed, you've got a shot.

The difference between Wisconsin, DUke, and Georgetown is this: Duke's game this year will never be successful in the NCAA Tournament, Georgetown is too undisciplined to be successful in the NCAA Tournament this year. Wisconsin is one of the top 5 defensive teams in the NCAA, they are as disciplined as they come, they are one of the most well coached teams in the country, and they are one of the most fundamental teams you will ever see in this age of basketball. I think it's time for everyone to realize how good of a team Wisconsin is because they are clearly the most underrated team in this tournament thus far. Literally no one is talking about them and they just steamrolled through Kansas St. who many thought were good enough to go to the Sweet 16.

So... how much is wisconsin paying you? and if you love them so much why don't you marry them?

This argument is retarded. i'm gonna go with senior shark here. it really doesn't matter what the flip wisconsin has done. Pitt looked like they could roll all the way to the final four the way they played in the big east tourney and G-town has some of the best athletes in the country when (IF) they play together and (IF) they use their size advantage they can beat anyone in the country. you can't deny that. the thing is with this tourney its all a matter of who shows up on game night and wants to win. and like it or not, Wisconsin and Davidson are gonna play it to the end in IMHO cause i think both teams will show up its gonna go down to the wire and i think Davidson can pull it out.

i've already said that before about georgetown if you would read what I say. as a matter of fact, I posted how georgetown made that blatantly obvious in their loss to pitt in the big east championship game. but the thing is, georgetown often doesn't take advantage of it because they aren't disciplined, which is the coach's fault. Wisconsin is simply a more disciplined and better coached team. wisconsin doesn't have as many athletic guys as georgetown, but they are simply a better team than georgetown. Wisconsin is the most under appreciated team in the entire tournament and you people are overlooking the fact that Davidson had a major home court advantage in the first and second rounds that will be non-existent for the remainder of the tournament.

PS: anyone who picked pitt to go to the final four is too stupid to deserve to analyze basketball. it was pretty obvious that was a luck run through the tourney, because even once lavance fields came back they were an average team in the regular season.

Big East & ACC: Defense? What is this defense you speak of in the Big Ten?

:D

As for Stephen, I look for him to hit 30. He'll still find his shots but will his teammates. His work without the ball is outstanding and why he gets so many quality looks.

Andrew Lovedale needs to have a good game inside, and not get 2 quick fouls like the last game.

When we play Davidson, they should be at the very least, ranked in the top-20. Without a doubt they'll be much better than us. There's no disputing that.

I wanna see Seth go up against Steph. Brothers are always very competitive rivals. Steph should bring the best out in Seth. And of course, watching Steph up close is always worth the price of admission.
More than likely Davidson will still be too good for us next year, but they are losing the nations leader in assists, and Stephen will be moving to the point. I think he has the game to do it, but it's still a big move, and it will be an adjustment for the entire team going from a pure "pass-first" PG to a player who will obviously be always looking for his shot.

Wisconsin will win because Brian Butch will own the boards. Curry will get alot but Wisconsin will shut the rest of the team down. They are consistent and thats why you cant compare them to Duke or GTown. Duke is a live and die by the 3. Georgetown is very inconsistant. Wisconsin has two big guys who never miss a board and that alone puts mounds of pressure on the stars to score alot. If Wisconsin can make Beasley ineffective in the second half, look for them to shut Lovedale down too.
