I always put on the act that I'm perfectly fine with being fcs but I'll admit the thought of some of these programs coming to the bill is pretty exciting. Too bad nothing is going in our favor right now.

Yeah. I just don't understand their thinking. If they don't go to 12 they will always be entertaining during the year but an after thought in the CFP

The idea of playing quality popular teams in the Bill is very exciting. In my opinion, it's also better to 6-6 playing in the Little Debbie Bowl in Sugar Tit, KY than sitting at home missing the playoffs at 9-2. Hopefully the 1-A ball gets rolling again soon after Bowl season.

The :flamingdevil extends an invite for your consideration. It's this type of posting that epitomizes what we look for in :flamingdevil and with your recent vocational transition we feel now is the right time to extend this offer

I have to admit that Boone County reference made this Cincy native smile.

Right now the Big XII looks just fine with OU clearly in the #3 slot. Of course they still have Bedlam standing in their way to the playoffs just like evenrybody else with their CCGs. Oh yeah, how did the Swooners pick up that loss again?

I'm not so sure what the position in Austin is these days. With Dodds & Patterson pushed out the door, there is a great deal of speculation about where the Horns stand these days on a number of issues regarding realignment.

You're making the assumption that, if we moved to FBS, these schools would want to play us and would want to play us at home. Maybe I'm wrong...but I don't think there is a long list of schools sitting and thinking, "I can't wait for Liberty to be FBS so we can travel to Lynchburg!" We have a hard enough time getting FCS programs to come here.

Oh, I don't know. Maybe a team that is always competitive and won 3 FCS national titles.

This I can guarantee: No FBS team will come to Lynchburg to play an FCS program.

If it were up to the players they would (of course it´s not) . Ross, and I believe a couple of other Coastal players are on record as saying they LOVED playing at the Bill. If Moglia is still around, I think he would do it. If not, I think Hogue would be inclined to as well.

Frankly I think this impacts the Sun Belt more than the Big XII. The Big XII has proven that it can get a 1-loss team into the Playoffs. So why bother to expand? On the other hand, the Sun Belt was holding out hope that CCH deregulation would allow them to add a championship game without further expansion. Now they need 12 football schools to make that happen.

BuryYourDuke wrote:I agree with Atrain on this one. Even though I personally agree with the Chancellor's statement, it has probably ensured that we will not be receiving a conference invitation from anyone anytime in the foreseeable future.

We are at an ultra-sensitive moment in academia. Emory students have essentially declared the First Amendment to be void on their campus. A handful of delicate flowers that have had their safe space violated by micro aggressions can take down long serving Presidents and Administrators. The timing of this little event couldn't have been worse for our perception amongst mainstream academia.

Another round of realignment won't change that.
That just means that "mainstream academia" is not tolerant of people who disagree with them and show a level of common sense not present on most campuses today. What else is new? Proud of Jr.
regardless of any realignment consequences. We may just have to try and dominate the FCS world. Not a bad option, especially when relegated to a Toilet Bowl invitation as a member of the SBC.

My biggest hope for realignment right now is that Hampton decides they want out of the Meac due to the Meac/swac "championship", and the Big South has enough sense to extend an invitation. While Kyle is doing this, he should also extend an invitation to Kennesaw State for all sports to try and keep them around. And the conference should forget about any kind of Big South A-sun basketball merger that could potentially destabalize everything.
