But they play in the AAC which was very strong this year but isn't a P5 conference so it means nothing...or so the "experts" say.

Compared to past years it was stronger which is what I meant. Plus the national champions came out of that conference

The Power 5 conference crap, should have never became a reality. Every FBS conference should be treated the same. The NCAA should have never given control of national championship to ESPN and Bill Hancock.

The NCAA gave the Autonomous 5 what they wanted. 60 colleges (with just one voting against autonomy - any guesses?), who would’ve broken away from the NCAA had they not gotten their way.

That is true, but NCAA is so money hungry, it happened.
NCAA is like the VHSL in Virginia, very weak leadership.

I won’t argue that at all. But I don’t think there was anything else they could’ve done with the Autonomous 5.
