Call it misguided hatred or sour grapes, but West Virginians can't forget the way he left the program in '07. And I don't think his ego will allow him to return to Morgantown unless he is afforded everything+ he was demanding back then.

Id say that just about every P5 has a high percentage of fans who want their coach fired if they aren't 5-0 and in line for a national championship every year or any number of unnecessarily high expectations for their school (don't even get me started about the SEC...oy). Hokie Nation needs to exercise patience with whoever puts on the headset after this year because they aren't going to go from 5-7 wins to 11 wins and a spot in the CFP in one year.

There's not much more he could have been give. Plus, members of his immediate house hold said some nasty things on the way out.
His ego fits at The U

I can't see him down there. Not sure it's a good fit. If they decide to end the Holgorson Experiment there will be a lot of people with deep pockets wanting Doc in Morgantown. A solid number of people think he should have gotten the job last time. WVU needs someone who sees it as the Destination job it is.

The AZ coach would be a better fit at The U

I agree but I don't think he's a cultural fit in Miami.

Because I ended my sentence in a preposition?

"Is" is a VERB, not a preposition. I know you weren't taught that at WVU, but hopefully your public schools in Indiana covered that. :fineprint

Who exactly would be a cultural fit at the U? It has to be one of the weirdest universities in all of the NCAA. At least for athletics.

To be specific, "is" is a linking verb. :)

Joe Moglia. (I see he's being interviewed on the Dan Lebetard show)

Don't know if anyone's heard yet, but the Indianapolis Colts fired their offensive coordinator Pep Hamilton. In my opinion, this is a crime that the blame for their performance so far was pushed onto him. However, this guy was the OC at Stanford when Luck was there. I could EASILY see him bringing instant credibility to ANY open position in the college ranks. VT and the U would do well to look his way.

Pep is just one of the clowns in the Indy circus. But he has to bear a great deal of the blame for the anemic offense he has in spite of the franchise going all in on loading up on offensive talent the past few years while ignoring defensive deficiencies.

I'm not saying he doesn't bear some of the blame... but to say he's a clown is a bit much I think. The blame lies squarely on the shoulders of Pagano and Grigson. Grigson traded away a #1 pick to grab Trent Richardson whom had underperformed in a very severe manner. He has refused to invest in his defense, particularly in the front 7 where they've needed it the most. He also has practically ignored the offensive line leaving Luck to get chased around all the time. They have no run game to speak of... even Frank Gore can't change that. All that leads to Luck trying to do too much. You can't put all the blame on the OC.

On top of that... most current and former coaches that know Pep speak very highly of him. I have to believe he's a top target for a HC position in the college ranks. He could probably still have a shot in the pros as well. His reputation is still good there I think.

I would absolutely LOVE to see Uncle Joe take the U job and leave Coastal hanging just as they join the Sun Belt. That's the kind of stuff dreams are made of for LU fans. :pray

By all accounts seems like LSU and Les Miles parting ways is imminent.

That's a shame. He never seemed to be welcomed there. He will be unemployed only as long as he wants to be

I agree, but hopefully they'll keep him and just make changes on the offensive side of the ball. Personally I think that'd be the best way to go.
